Lee and Miltinnie are inseparable. They love each other so much. Not only do they give each other amazing gifts such as chinchilla furs, cruise trips, gadgets, clothes, and flowers, but they also give each other the priceless gifts of time, patience, grace, and truth.
Such love models the kind of love Christ demonstrated for the Church, when He died on the Cross to purify and save His Bride.
Although 30 years have gone by since they exchanged vows, they seem to constantly renew them to each other explicitly through their words and actions or implicitly through their thoughts and self-reminders. On top of that, the romance has not even come close to fizzling out.
Their love for one another is vibrant, ever-changing, and ever-growing. They are discovering new routes to reconciliation and intimacy with each new season. No secrets are kept, no conflict is ever left unaddressed. More importantly, their individual love for God provides the glue that binds them together and motivates them to continue loving one another. With such a foundation grounded in eternity and buttressed by the very character of Love personified Himself, no wonder their love for each other has never failed. |
