Thinking of flowers in winter, just a few we could mention up. For chinese people, Meihua(plum flower)has been highly praised for its blossoming against snow, symbolizing the spirit of chinese who never giving up their hopes in a hardship.

but for all the flowers in winter to me, the best one stays in my personal world is Camellia. I came from a homeplace of Camellia, where in the winter, in the deep mountain valley, there are red and pink ever white Camellias as beautiful as lotus flowers in the summer, blossoming against the cold.

In winter, due to its dry weather, we went into mountains to cut woods using for cooking and heat for the whole year, also went to mountains to pick up dried leaves for animal stable where the leaves became fertilizers for rice field in spring.

While facing cold, the Camellias brought us warmth for its blossoming like fire in winter. there was so much joy to pick up and bring some branches full of buds home, for its blossoming could last more than weeks once you put those branches in a vase of spring water.
