These are some grooming tips that I have found work for me.

-Keep treats on hand to give your Yorkie as you groom them for being good.

-Use a soft bristle brush or pin brush.

-Brush your Yorkie's hair thoroughly to remove all the matts. A Pin brush works well.

-Brush your Yorkie's teeth. Early pervention is the key to less dental problems.

-You will need to insert a small amount of cotton into the ears. This will help
avoid getting water into the ears.

-Place your Yorkie in a sink, making sure the water is warm (not to hot). Wet your
Yorkie down. Avoid getting water in their eyes.

-Apply a shampoo for Yorkies. Lather up well, making sure not to rub their coat.
Rubbing their coat will cause the hair to break.

-Rinse well.

-Apply a good conditioner. Make sure to rinse the conditioner well. I perfer to use
a leave-in conditioner.

-Dry your Yorkie. Remember to keep your blowdryer on a low setting and do not
hold the dryer in one spot to long. Remember Yorkies do not have a undercoat
and if you leave the dryer in one spot you will burn them.

-After the coat is dryed. Brush your Yorkie and put a topknot in their hair. This
will keep the hair out of their eyes. Use a pretty bow to fancy up the topknot.

-If you would like trim your Yorkies toenails. Be careful not to cut too short as
their toenails will bleed.

-If you would like trim the hair on the ears, use a mustache razor, on the top 1/3 of the  ear. Also trim the hair on the underside of the ear.

-You may want to trim the hair around the feet as well.

-REWARD your yorkie with a treat. Tell them how good they were.

-I perfer to take my Yorkie for a professional grooming every 4-6 weeks.
