Choosing a Puppy.......
Before getting a Yorkie puppy get to know as much information about the breed you can. Find a great Veternarian. Choose a responsible breeder. Responsible breeders breed dogs when both dogs have been tested for genetic health problems. They breed dogs with good temperaments and avoid breeding closley related dogs. They sell their dogs from their homes. Avoid Puppy Mills. When choosing your puppy do not let the puppy choose you. Evaluate the litter as a whole group. You can tell a lot by the way puppies interact with their littermates. Look for a good-natured puppy who does not growl, grab or bite, but one who joins in and can hold his own. Clap your hands gently, snap your finger, softly whistle to find which puppies are interested, apprehensive or investigate. You want an alert and confident puppy. Now evaluate the puppy by himself. Does he keep his tail up or down? Is he wagging his tail? When you talk to him is he looking and listening to you? Now choose your puppy carefully as they are a big commitment. They are another member of your family. |
