Big Macks From Flaming Gorge, WY....23 pnds through the Ice and 24 pnds From the Boat (caught and released)

I caught the first one on a sucker with a white glow jig at Anvil Draw, on Flaming Gorge. It was a very cold day, about -15. The rig was just laying on the bottom with the spool open.

The second I caught on Memorial day in 1998. It was cold and rainy and we had caught just a few little ones. About 10:00 am, the wind came up and we moved next to a cliff. Trolling across a bay he struck my white glow Flatfish. He fought good. Good fish!

May 1999 Ace Fishing Derby


More Gorge fish
These were not huge fish but they won Fifth Place in this cold and windy Derby!! Ted Knowles, Wes Hawks and Ron

We did great in the 1999 Ace Fishing Derby. Wes is holding the fourth largest brown at 2.3 pounds. Next, I have the fifth largest Koke, 2.1 pounds. We also had seventh largest Rainbow. We finished fifth in total fish. It was very windy and very cold. We fished in a fairly small boat and got blown off the lake. But it was great fishing!!

----- Floyd and I caught these at the pipeline on Flaming Gorge. Most of these were rainbows with a couple of kokes. Primarily, we were using small pop gear.
----- We caught these two, a #4 and a 2# rainbow on small Pop gear near the pipeline.
----- Floyd after a successful day fishing. This was in wildlife bay North of Anvil. Very good fishing for fair sized rainbows, small rainbows and meduim small Macks. Again, we used small cowbells, but caught a lot of small ones on a Mepps and Sheridan lure.

Bear Lake fishing------------ Cold day in spring pn Gorge

-----A cold day fishing for Cisco in Jan, Bear Lake, Id. It is a great time, snagging Cisco as the spawn and before they die. We caught Cisco, Cutthroats, and whitefish.
----- Fishing for Macks in the snow in May at the Gorge. Kevin and Greg Kinchloe in an unsuccessful attempt for Big Macks.
