HISTORY
Woo-wee!  It's only 10 days in and August has been a busy month.  Rick James, R.I.P.  I got to see The Ponys (above), Ueh, Kinski w/Kawabata Makoto of Acid Mothers Temple, White Magic and Sonic Youth!  That is totally awesome.  All the bands were really good.
I got to interview Kinski and I will try to play it (or type it up if I can't digitize it) for you very soon.  Stay tuned for more fun & excitement from the Heroin(e) camp.  :-)
8/2:  I was met with a pleasant surprise when upon meeting Bim (drummer of This Moment in Black History) at the Music Saves Opening Celebration (Vernacular was great by the way - listen to them on Live from Cleveland 8/5 or 8/12), he told me he was going to see his label-mates "The Ponys" at the Grog Shop that night.  I ended up going, also, and am sad I didn't list it in my recommended shows.  It was very good & very fun.  Listen for them on upcoming Your Rx's.
8/3: Ah!  You know what else was really cool?  The Pinkering Brothers @ Pat's in the Flats.  Yes, I arrived late (I was quite the little interloper on Saturday), but the song I saw was incredible.  Happy birthday, bro's!
8/26.  So, I am sad to say goodbye to some great WRUW Programmers (AKA DJs).  Due to the shifting nature of college life, we wish Molly of Voices & Choices and Billiam of Totally Lopsided Frock farewell and good luck.  We're also losing a community member DJ of one of my favorite shows - Steve of A Crooked Mile.  I have taken his timeslot with some regret because I will miss his show. However, I hope to be a good replacement for your Tuesday evenings.  I will do my best, as always.  Another favorite show of mine - Latin Perspectives was not able to get a timeslot this semester, but we will hope they can come back soon.

However, in better news, another of my favorite shows - applejacktheylack - is taking my old timeslot.  They will be a nice combo with stonecoldbikini, battling it out for indie rock domination.  :o)

Please enjoy WRUW's new Fall Schedule!  We have some new shows coming on that are sure to be your next favorite, too!  Surf to our
website for program updates.
