| This process is very long and tedious, however if you choose to play the game to the fullest, the following process is a must. First off, you need to have the Highwind which you get on disk two. Return to the Chocobo Farm and pay Chocobo Bill 60000 gil for 6 stalls. Now you need some greens and nuts. Fly to the Chocobo Sage's house and fight an enemy called Vrakoladus. Each time you steal from it, you will recieve a Carob nut from it, used for breeding. After you get 3 of those, go to Goblin Island and steal from the goblins in order to recieve Zeio Nuts. You will need only 1 of these types of nuts. Then, go to Chocobo Sage's house and buy 40 Sylkis greens from him. Equip the Chocobo Lure materia, and fly to the chocobo tracks near Gold Saucer and capture two chocobos. When you catch one. dismount it, and you can tell it to go back to the stalls. Now, get back on Highwind and fly to Mideel. You'll notice some chocobo tracks there. Once again, make sure that the Chocobo Lure materia is equipped, and go fetch yourself another chocobo. Return to the Chocobo Farm and save your game. Go talk to Choco Billy. You will be given the option to name your Chocobos. Walk up to your chocobos and look at them. Make sure you have two male and one female. If you don't, quit and rename them again. You should have 2 males and 1 female. The running type of chocobos should be female. The walking type of chocobo should be male. And you should have another, another running type. Tell Choco Billy that you want the chocobos to mate and feed them a Carob Nut. If you get a colored chocobo that is green, that's great. If not, reset and try again. Now, mate your unused running chocobo with your green chocobo. Then, repeat the steps earlier on getting the chocobos (2 from Gold Saucer, 1 from Mideel). Now, mate them and you should get a blue chocobo. Feed them 10 Sylkis Greens. Go to Gold Saucer and race until your green and blue chocobos are ranked A. After they are A, breed them using a Carob Nut and you'll get a black chocobo. Fly to the snowy continent to the north, and look for tracks near the west of the continent. Catch a chocobo, return it to the stables and name it. Make sure that this chocobo is of the dashing type. It needs to be the opposite gender of your black one. Feed 10 Sylkis Greens to the black and dashing yellow chocobos. Go to Gold Saucer, race em to rank A. Now, mate them using the Zeio Nut and if your lucky, you'll get a GOLD CHOCOBO! This Chocobo can go anywhere, on land, water, and over mountainous regions. You must have this type of chocobo to access the Materia Caves. |
