I’m a fan of the genres of Fantasy, Horror and Sci-Fi, which is all referenced MUCHO, MUCHO times within this site (Hence the title, “Vault of Geekdom”). What is the Vault of Geekdom?
The Vault of Geekdom is my personal web page. Obviously you weren’t paying much attention on the main page of my vault which, in the intro, tells you what this page is about and who it’s for.
Who’s it for?
Oh for cryin’ out loud. Again, it’s for friends and family as well as those that want to get to know more about me.
What’s with the “Zs” that misspell the passage titles (or should we say “Titlez)?
It’s a very lame attempt, on my part, at being clever.
What happened to the site at Talk City?
Zangz’s Vault of Geekdom was originally hosted at Talk City. During the summer of 2002, I found that my website was gone for a few weeks. Then it came back up, but I couldn’t access the edit manager, thus I wasn’t able to change anything on the site. This lasted for two more months. A lot of excuses were given by people posing as “help” telling all us site owners that things would be back to normal shortly. Otherwise, they kept things very secretive. At least until the beginning of August when it was announced that Talk City was going down the dumper and everything was shut down for good (including my friend Dave’s INODAV page – sorry Dave!). But now I’m here at Yahoo! / Geocities. It’s got a far better edit manager and Page Builder! So far, so good. Cross your fingers.
Why do I sometimes get the message “Sorry, this site is temporarily unavailable! The web site you are trying to access has exceeded its allocated data transfer. Visit our help area for more information. Access to this site will be restored within an hour. Please try again later.”
Unfortunately, having a free web host isn’t all roses. Those of us that subscribe for the free web space are allotted only so much download material. That means that you, the visitors, can only download so much content (300 KB) before Yahoo/Geocities shuts it down for an hour or so. It’s a matter of bandwidth. It is also limited per month. So don’t think that the vault has up and left if you get that mysterious message. It just means that too many people have been looking at it. Just check back in a couple of hours or the next day.
It’s kind of creepy in here. I’m not in any danger, am I?
Things that are creepy and spooky are very aesthetically pleasing to me. I’m a fan of horror movies and literature and Halloween is my Christmas. Some people suggest that I should have been a Goth, but I’m afraid I wouldn’t make a very good Goth. I’m too geeky. I end up looking constipated if I try and brood. But, in any case, the vault resembles “creepy” and “spooky” attributes. No harm will come to you…unless you’re not watching where you are going. Bruhahahahahahah!!!
There is WAY to much stuff to read on here! How am I to consume all this geek knowledge?
The fact of the matter is that I over communicate. Thus I write too much. What you could do is take your curser and highlight whatever text you want to read at a later time ant hit “Ctrl” and “C” at the same time. Then paste the copied text (by hitting “Cntrl” and “V” at the same time) to a text document program (Word). Then save that word document and read at your convenience….I told you I communicate too much!

What happened to the “Bond Updates & Newz” page that was on the old site?
Well, I’m still a HUGE Bond fanatic, but it was A LOT of information to keep updating constantly. Since very few people visited it, it didn’t warrant keeping it up. It may return some day in one form or another. By the way, the one person who complained about it not being a part of the site any longer is one of the people who never visited it anyway. Go figure. If you REALLY need to know what’s going on in the world of James Bond, I have a few links you can visit on my “Zangz’s Favorite Linkz” page. Scroll down to the Bond section of it.
What kind of content is on this site? Do I have to shelter my innocent, virginal eyes from anything here?
Outside of the occasional dark humor, twisted joke or euphemistic slang term, there is no pornography or sexually explicit content on this page. Sorry, nothing kinky either. Ya can always feed your fetish; ya just can’t feed it here!
What about any outside links?
There are no porn sites that I link to on this page!!!! The mass majorities of sites that I link to in my “Zangz’s Favorite Linkz” page are fun, interesting and inspire imagination. The only sites that people may have the SLIGHTEST problem with are the Horror genre sites. Spooky, eerie long leggedy beasties and what they do to people doesn’t always sit well with the more uptight web surfers. I try to be careful with what I link to. If someone has a problem with something on this site or any other that it has a link to, please Email me using the link below. But ya better be nice about it! Otherwise, I’ll have to feed you to some of the “Old Ones” and undead that lurk about my vault. In any case, parents should always monitor their children when they web surf. If this isn’t feasibly possible, then they can download a number of child protection programs to help their children avoid finding sites with “no, no” material on them. Let parents protect their own children so that the “agents of decency” don’t come in and take our first amendment rights away from all of us!!! Keep the net free!!! Ok, enough with the soapbox. On to the next question…

What type of stuff and settings does my computer need to view Zangz's Vault of Geekdom in its full nerdtastic quality?
Pretty much the basics that are being put on computers today.
-A screen ratio of 1024 X 768 pixels.
-The latest version of Windows IE.
-A sound card and speakers.
-An internet connection of 56K at least.
-A decent sized processor chip (Pentium 3 at the VERY least!)
-A shot of Jack Daniels.
-Your mothers bra strapped firmly to your head. IT'S RITUAL!

Yahoo! / Geocities. Click the link to go there and start making your own free web page.
Is it FREE?
Yes. You can get up to 15MB web space. But, remember, visitor’s can only download about 300KB before it shuts the site down for an hour or so.
Well, can I get more bandwidth for visitors to download?
Yes, as well as more web space and other goodies for your website But it will cost you. Yahoo! / Geocites have a few different pay programs to choose from depending on what you want your website to be.
What program do you use to create the vault?
I use Page Builder that is provided by Yahoo! / Geocities.
What's with all the pop up ads?
Again, it's a FREE hosted web site. The pop ups are one of a few ways Yahoo! / Geocities makes money for the free web space webmasters use. They can be easily gotten rid of by clicking them off in their "X" icon. For the ones that appear up in the right hand corner, you can just click on the "X" icon twice. Once to minimize it and once again to take it off the screen. Ok. One last question.
If a passenger train leaving Milwaukee at 3pm, heading south, travels at 100 mph and another passenger train leaving Chicago on the same set of tracks leaves Chicago at 3:30pm heading north at 75 mph, where and when will total carnage take place?
