There has been many rumors going around on the internet concerning Scotty's status with WWE. I was able to see him in NYC at The World and he told fans that he was indeed returning in May or June. It was wonderful to see him and I thank him for being such a nice guy. In my opinion, he looked really healthy and I look forward to his return to the ring in the near future.  I have posted an interview he did that evening concerning the holidays, returning, his injury, etc. Also I've posted several photos for everyone's viewing pleasure.

Here's some Scotty info for anyone who wants to meet him. He'll be with Billy Gunn in NYC @ The World on Feb. 9th, 10th, and 11th. Doors open at 6pm. For more information please call The World at 212-398-2563.
Scotty inching closer to return
by Phil Speer

WORCESTER, Mass. – April 27, 2003 – Scotty 2 Hotty appeared at a non-televised SmackDown! event last night in Portland, Maine. Today, he came by Backlash to see friends from RAW who he hasn’t seen in months, and to say hello to some Superstars who he’s never met. Except for two appearances at shows in Portland – which is the city next to his hometown of Westbrook, and the city in which he had his first match -- the former Tag Team Champion hasn’t been seen by WWE crowds since last April, when his chronically hurt neck just couldn’t hold up anymore. On May 7, he had spinal fusion surgery in San Antonio. He has an appointment with his surgeon, Dr. Lloyd Youngblood, this Wednesday.
“I’m hoping for full clearance (to return to the ring),” Scotty told WWE.com backstage at Worcester’s Centrum Centre. “But (Youngblood) has told me before that he won’t release me in under a year. So I’m not getting my hopes up.”
But Scotty is hoping that he’ll at least be cleared to take “bumps” – fall on his back in a wrestling ring – so that he can report to Ohio Valley Wrestling, WWE’s developmental territory, and start getting re-accomstomed to the squared circle.
He’s already gotten medical clearance to work out; he been in the gym five days a week for the last five months and says he’s already at his wrestling weight. “I’m happy where I’m at right now,” he said. “I’d like a couple of more weeks, though, before I take off my shirt in front of people.” He can also do light ring work – like running the ropes and rolling around on the mat – and actually did just that for the first time last night in Portland. He also performed in front of the crowd, dancing and doing the Worm for the first time since his last match, at an April 16, 2002, live event in Denton, Texas.
“It was a blast,” he said. “It was the first Worm in 375 days. It was really nervous – wicked nervous.” Scotty had about 40 friends and family members at the show last night, and in a completely unplanned event, his 16-month-old daughter, Taylor, was brought into the ring and danced with her father!  He said being backstage these last few nights has been like the first day of school. Today, he met Goldberg and “Rowdy” Roddy Piper for the first time. Piper told him that his 13-year-old son was a big fan, and asked Scotty to sign an autograph for him. “That was actually pretty cool,” Scotty said.

I had second row seats, I was supposed to be right by the entrance way, but two guys took our seats, and the security guards could've cared less...So we sat on the end of the row, instead of by the entrance.. Turn-out was was bad, the arena holds around 10,000 with the floor, and I'd estimate about 6,000 people were there.
Here are the results.. Some girl from a local radio station came out, didn't really know what she was talking about.
Scotty 2 Hotty came out, since we were in his home town...He announced that next week, he'd be cleared to wrestle...Chief Morely came out, got some heat bysaying until he could wrestle, he wasn't allowed in his ring. Morely threw Scotty out.
Fairly big opener...
Scott Steiner defeated Christian, It took Steiner about 5 minutes to get out of the curtain. Atleast 10 minutesof just going back and forth with the crowd, Christian yelled at some people.Steiner hit atleast 4 Belly-Belly Suplexes, like usual. Steiner pinned Christianafter a Samoan Drop from the Top Rope. Spike Dudley Defeated Steven Richards The crowd could've cared less about this one. Spike took at least 3 minutes to smile and wave at the crowd. Richards hit a nice Morality Check (I don'tknow if he still calls it that, Stevie Kick maybe?) But only got a two. Spiket ried for the Dudley Dog twice, finally got it the third time ,and got th epin. The Fink came in and announced a Divas Tag Match.. Jazz & Victoria pinned Jacqueline & Ivory, Molly Holly was the special guest referee. Pretty bland match...Lots of going back and forth, Jazz rolled up Jackie, and Mollydid a quick count, trying to play her heel role as much as possible  Rodney Mack w/ Teddy Long defeated Tommy Dreamer Teddy Long made a speech about Portland not being fair to black people...He told the referee to be fair, or he'd pay. Dreamer got a big pop, and soaked himself, and the crowd with water before the match..he brought a Singapore Cain...Alot of hardcore stuff, Mack pissed Dreamer off towards the end, and Tommy tried to use the Cain, but the referee pulled it away..This distracted Dreamer long enough for Mack to hit him with some kind of powerslam, and win. The Hurricane & Maven defeated 3 Minute Warning w/ Rico Hurricane got a huge pop...Probably the biggest of the night. Maven got a decent pop...Many chants of Rico's gay. Awesome spot, where Rosey had Maven in a sleeper hold,Hurricane run up, and hit a Shining Wizard...It looked great. After Mavengot the pin, Hurricane chokeslammed Rico.  20 Minute Intermission They Played tracks from Anthology the whole time Fink comes back to the ring, to "Back in Black" by AC/DC. He plugs Backlash fortonight. Talks about WWE merchandise, before he can finish..The Countdownstarts.. Jericho comes out, and fights with some people on his way..He trashes Portland, and says its filled with fat men, and ugly women...andthat this is the last place in the world he wants to be.  Test comes out, and they play the crowd for a bit. Chris Jericho defeats Test via submission Good match, I think around 20 minutes. Jericho dissed Portland, and Maine in general.I loved every minute, being the huge Jericho mark that I am. Lots of interferencesby Christian, Test hit the Pump Handle a few times, but didnt get the three, thanks to Christian. Jericho made Test submit via The Walls of Jericho. Christopher Nowinski defeated Al Snow Nowinski wore his mask. It was a decent match, alot of funny spots. Al Snow made alotof obscene gestures, and it clearly made the road agent at ringside mad. After the match, Al stole Nowinski's mask, stuffed it in his pants, and thenchased the referee around the ring with the mask.  MAIN EVENT- Rob Van Dam & Kane defeated The Dudley Boys to retain the Tag Team Title, Chief Morely was the ref. Alot of playing the crowd in this one..Morely accidentally hit a Dudley with a chair...Kane hit a chokeslam, RVD hit a fave star..Morely was knocked out...anda knew ref came and counted the three.  After Kane & RVD left..Morely hit both Dudley Boys with the chair, and went and got a table. Scotty returned, much to the crowds delight...Dudley's shook Scotty's hand, and they 3D'd Morely through the table. After, Scotty threw Morely out of the ring...and he and the Dudley's did some dancing. Scotty went and got his daughter fromthe crowd, (his wife, daughter, mother and father were all there) and actuallygot her to dance..She's no older than 2. Dudley's went and got to little boys from the crowd, and gave them pieces of the table. Great Stuff. They stayed out for at least 20 minutes after the show ended. Really great gesture.
Overall it was a decent show, nothing too special. Hopefully next time, they'll bring a better card.
Biggest Pops:
-
Scotty 2 Hotty
-The Hurricane
-Scott Steiner
-Dudley's, after 3Ding Morely
-Rob Van Dam

Scotty Too Hotty was recently informed by Dr. Lloyd Youngblood that he will have to wait out a WWE return for another three more months. Scotty has been out for quite a while recovering from major neck surgery.
