Richardson Family Club
Welcome to the Home of the Richardson Family Club. This site is devoted to the Richardson families -- if you are a Richardson or descendant of a Richardson -- this is YOUR family club and the place for you to look for news and history about your kinfolk. Our main purpose is to gather and preserve the heritage of all Richardson families. It will emphasize our family heritage as well as current news about living relatives.
Of course, all the Richardson families from the South are not all related. However, we all do share a common bond in our desire to preserve our family heritage. This cannot be done by one person nor a small group: what is needed is a family club so we can all cooperate together and make such a dream come true. This is why the family club includes ALL Richardson families. So don't ask "am I related" to this club. If you are a Richardson or descendant of a Richardson, then it includes you.
The family club is sponsoring development of a Family Library where we hope to preserve records of all kinds on our family, from the earliest available up to the present generation. You are invited to submit information about your branch of the family to preserve in the Family Library and include in the history section. Our HISTORY section will feature online records in the hope they may help relatives learn more about our ancestors, including cemetery records (tombstone inscriptions), marriage records, military records and more. Click on "HISTORY" in the Index below to go to the history section.
The site also has an online family newsletter, with current news about Richardson families. It includes obituaries on deaths of Richardson relatives, wedding announcements, engagements, anniversaries, birth notices, school news, feature articles and more. Click on "NEWS" in the Index below.
If you are looking for Richardson ancestors, we also have a query section where you can post a query in search of information on ancestors or missing relatives. Some relative may be able to help you with your quest. Click on "QUERIES" in the Index below.
The main purpose of the family club is to gather and preserve information and records on our ancestors. That can succeed only if many of the family help. You are urged to send us information and copies of records on your immediate family to preserve in the Family Library. We are trying to gather copies of every type of public document and private records, including copies of marriage records, deeds, old letters, wills, US and state census records, obituaries, newspaper articles, family Bible records , estate and court records, birth and death certificates, military records, wedding and engagement notices, school records, old tax and voter's lists, cemetery tombstone inscriptions and more.
PLEASE, make xerox copies of the family information in your Bible, obituaries of Richardson relatives, wedding notices, military discharge papers, birth and death certificates and other types of family records you have and send these to us to preserve in the Family Library. Take time to record all the birth dates, marriages and deaths in your immediate family. Record the memories of the oldest relatives you know so these can be preserved for future generations.
Our Family Library will be donated to the Georgia State Archives upon the death of our historian. This is the largest and most modern state archives in the South and centrally located for the majority of our family.
You are invited to join and support your Richardson Family Club. If you are a Richardson or descendant of a Richardson, this is your family club. This effort cannot succeed without members. If you appreciate what we are trying to do, please join and support your family club. Your membership dues will help support this website, more family research (to buy family records from local courthouses, libraries, etc.), office supplies, notebooks, etc. We have no staff--the work is done by volunteers so be patient with our efforts.
Your membership in the family club is very important to make it a success.
Without your support, a lot of family projects such as this family website won't be possible and the continued growth of your Family Library cannot continue. Join us and help make this dream come true. Send your membership dues to the address below. Make your check payable to the Richardson Family Club.
