Sanders - Saunders Family History and News

A Family Club for all Sanders - Saunders Descendants

Welcome to the official website of the Sanders Family Association, a non-profit family club for all descendants of all the Sanders - Saunders families. Our main purpose is to gather and preserve the heritage of the Sanders - Saunders family and make it available to everyone. Among our projects is an online family newsletter and an online history section. Read about these below.

Please--don't ask if you are "related" to this group. If you are a Sanders, Saunders or descendant -- then it does include you. This family club is for ALL Sanders families. Of course, all Sanders - Saunders families are not blood-related. Yet, we all do share a common bond in our desire to preserve our family heritage. The family club was founded to give all descendants of Sanders - Saunders families a family organization to work with in helping to preserve our families' heritage and other projects. If you are a Sanders - Saunders or a descendant of a Sanders, this is YOUR family club and you are urged to support it.

Sanders Family History

The main purpose of the Sanders family club is to gather and preserve our family history. The family website has a Sanders History section which will always be changing, with different information being added frequently. This will be basic family information that hopefully will help you learn more about our ancestors as well as a future family history section on individual family lines.

We have two pages on Sanders who served in the state Militias and Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War. Also sections on men in the union and Confederate Armies during the War for Southern Independence; Sanders-Saunders family Bible records, Sanders family marriage records, Sanders family cemetery records and more. Click on "HISTORY" in the INDEX below.

Sanders Family Queries

If you are looking for a "missing link" ancestor or a "lost" living relative, our family website also has a queries section where you can post a message and perhaps find another relative who can help you with the very information and records you are looking for. Click on "QUERIES" below.

Famous Sanders

Ever wondered if you had any famous kinfolk or at least one who was "somebody"? Well, now we have a new section called "Famous Sanders" that tells you about those Sanders - Saunders kinfolk who have become famous or notable in every field of endeavor, whether it be on a national scale or just "down home". It includes those in government, education, business and industry, entertainment, the arts, science, religion, sports and more. You will find movie stars, generals, governors and those who have been US Congressmen, US Senators, state officers, ambassadors, college professors, business titans, big industrialists, university president, sheriff , mayor or top teachers. Click on "FAMOUS" in the INDEX below.

Sanders Family Memorials

We have a Memorials section where family club members may post free memorials to loved ones. If you would like to memorialize your parents, grandparents, ancestors, spouse or other Sanders relative, you can do this in this section. You can add a photo of the relative to the memorial. Click on "MEMORIALS" in the INDEX below.

Sanders Family Newsletter

Our family website has an online version of our Sanders family NEWSLETTER, with current news about your kinfolk. For the family newsletter to be a success, we need your help -- when you hear about a death, marriage, engagement, major anniversary, birth, school news or news of the Sanders family, please send the details to us so we can put this in your family newsletter. Click on "NEWS" in the INDEX below to go to the newsletter.

Sanders Reunions

If your branch of the family is planning a reunion, please let us know and we will write a story about it in the family newsletter. See the family newsletter for more about reunion news.

Sanders Family National Library

The Sanders Family National Library is a collection of every type of record, both public and private, on the Sanders - Saunders, especially those families with roots in the original English colonies of America.

We are trying to gather and preserve every kind of public document, including US and state census records, wills, marriage licenses and bonds, estate records, deeds, church records, cemetery tombstone inscriptions, birth and death certificates. Also old tax lists and voter's lists, military records from the beginning of the nation up to the present, old letters, family Bible records, published items from books & magazines, obituaries, wedding announcements, etc.

You are invited to join in this project. By cooperating and working together, we can make it possible for future generations of our family to know about themselves, their family and their heritage--without having to spend a lifetime of research wandering all over the nation. You are urged to send information and copies of records on your Sanders - Saunders branch to preserve in the Family Library.

See also our "History" section. Click on "HISTORY" below.

Sanders Family Association

The projects of the Sanders family club cannot be accomplished by any one person nor a small group of kinfolk. We need a family club so we can all cooperate together and a family club, like any kind of club, must have MEMBERS. Your membership dues and donations help purchase notebooks, copying paper, note paper, envelopes, pens, postage and a host of other items needed as well as pay the monthly rent on our website; above all, the dues help purchase copies of family records from courthouses and libraries for your Family Library. If you appreciate what we are trying to do to gather and preserve our family heritage, then join with your kinfolk and help make this wonderful dream a reality. Become a member of the Family club and take a part in this effort.

Our Purpose and main goals:

Your membership is very important to keep the family club active.

Without members--your membership dues and donations--your Sanders Family National Library could not exist, this family website could not be possible, your family newsletter nor any of our other family projects would be provided for. Join us and help make this dream a reality.

Send your membership dues to the mailing address at the bottom of the page.
