Song playing----'Brother'
WAITING FOR THE SPIRITS
by Jerre Divelbiss
Sitting within the lines of black marble stone
Amongst a brotherhood
Listening beyond the sounds nature makes
But for the stories whispered on the winds of night
That dies short of us in wait
Waiting for the Spirits of the Wall
Whispering word of remembrance and sacrifice
Within a brotherhood
Piercing us with pain through heart and soul
Like dark clouds making shadowy pattern on the land
Torment to dark to see, unless you were there
Waiting for the Spirits of the Wall
Summoning visions in the mind
Inside a brotherhood
Rousing glowing tidal earthen memories
To dance in darkness in each of us
To set free our warrior powers
Waiting for the Spirits of the Wall

VOICES IN THE WALL
by Jerre Divelbiss
The wind was cold and hard as it howled around
The solitary figure standing at the Wall
Cane in hand and beret on his head
His mind drifting to distant yesterdays
As he quietly stared at the ground
Thinking of horrors and comrades long gone
Would they remember him, would they even care
As he stood there saying his prayer
He heard voices coming from the Wall
It was the comrades he’d come to meet
Voices of the past speaking in the dark
We know you’re all alone with emptiness in your eyes
We know your sorrow and that inside you cry
Don’t cry for us, we’re now at peace
We’re here to heal your soul, bring you relief
Reach out for us, we do care
He placed his hand on each of their names
The sadness gone, it brought him relief
The years that separated them vanished in a haze
Comrades together again from his long Vietnam days
He no longer was alone

River Eagle
Dave / 11Bravovet
Flying low in morning mist the river eagle cries
To another perhaps as strong as he, just off his wing he flies
Every current of the morning wind, every ripple far below
Helps to erase the memories, of times so long ago.
If one should tire, the other leads If one should falter free
And plunge into the rivers depths, alone he thinks is he.
He only has to turn on wings, and look beside him there
Still on his wingtip, his brothers strength
Carried through the air
Some think a Spirit, and some are sure
Guides them through the night
Some don't understand the reasons, behind the will to fight
But none will ever fly alone, as long as eagles fly
And none will ever forget a brother
One a river, 'Wall', or sky. "Peace"
