Song Playing: Open Arms

...Morning...

What is this chill that greets me in the morning with little sleep.
That shows me a full moon, crystal clear, the spiders web won't keep.
His prize..tho beautiful as it is..ensnaring the jewels of an evening dew,
Can't fill his larder, supply his needs, but for me the view.
A Lonewolf cries in the distance.
I hear it even now.
Don't ask me why it stirs me so, I really don't know how.
A friend is lost, who I don't know, Someday He'll show me then.
But for now I'll grieve along with the Family,
As if I've always been.

One Couple

One couple

There is a couple out there, who holds a shining star.
Between them and their Web sites, and this is who they are.
Her name is Lois Adams, the wife of a VietNam Vet.
His name is John, he loves her so.
You can see it on the Net.

If all the Veterans Hospitals, and Heroes filled with Pain.
And all the homeless and troubled sort,
That stand in a cold, cold rain.
Could hold a piece of that special Love,
Could feel the Healing Grace.
They'd leave those wards and broken homes,
With smiles upon their face.

So tag to their Home now for me,
And thank them for their Love.
And sign the Books to show those two,

There's a Message from Above.

Best Wishes...11bravovet 1-03-1998

The Lady

There is a Marine wife that I know,
A friend of the serviceman.
She reaches out when we are down,
With a friendly, helping hand.

No one asked her to take this charge,
But she carries on each day.
We all know of whom I speak,
Permit me this to say.

None quite like her, ever before,
Helped lead us back from every War.

So grant me this my fellow Bro.., Face her together now.
And salute the lady of this room,
Who's shown the healing how.

I salute you Lois Adams,
Helped pull me from the night.
I'll not forget the day you did,

For what you've done is right.

Simplicity

If you could receive one Gift today, one Gift above the rest.

What would be your choice my friend, to choose to be the best?

Would you desire a flaming sunrise, or the brillance of sunset?

Would it be sparkling jewels of dew, trapped in a spider's net?

Would you be happy with simple things, or would you want it all?

Satisfied with south bound geese, just listening to them call.

Could you see beauty as I have so, the sunstruck diamonds of falling snow.

And if you need the sound of joy, to race through every vein,

Then listen to the song of the whipporwill, and listen to the rain.

For small things seem to mean so much, to those who cannot see.

And sounds unheard..are deafening..too loud for you and me.

Don't take for granted what you were given, don't ask too much of me.

For all I have are simple things, to share for you to see.

'Tingles'

heart

Have you ever had a daughter, Have you ever had a son.

They one day step into your room, something new has just begun.

Their eyes are filled with wonder,

Their voice is fast and free.

Can't wait to tell you what they think,

To tell you what they see.

They seem to tremble when they walk, not even touching ground.

You ask them-what is new today, but heard is not a sound.

You should not have to ask them,

You should have felt it too.

You should not wonder what it is, You should have lived it through.

And, if by chance, it passed you up,

And you've lived this life--then why?

Go out and find it,...It is there....

You only have to try!

The Gift

What is this magic in the air, that opens up my eyes.

To see the things I could not see, so many years--I've tried.

What is this song that plays for me, it's notes so loud and clear.

It soothes a broken soul I've kept, hidden behind the tear.

I now can see where I have been, and know the reason why.

I now can feel what I've not felt, had courage to even try.

Settling over me at night, it smothers all the pain.

And echoes back in a thousand ways, in time to morning rain.

You cannot touch or feel this thought, it's coming from above.

But if you search these lines -My Friend,

Gift wrapped,----It's Christmas Love.

Awareness

river

I had a place where I could go inside my heart to be,

Alone and safe and only known to no one else but me.

But she found out and stirred it up and turned me upside down,

And all I think about is her, her smile, her laugh, her gown,

I don't know reasons for its start, I really couldn't care,

For she is home and I'm alone, waiting in a lonely stare.

She cannot know of what I feel, she cannot feel the fear.

She cannot comfort so far away, can't even see the tear.

But since we met--in such a strange way,

The hours are dragging by, and I can't wait to see her face,

In darkened night I try.

Apart we are, yet oh so close quite simple is the test.

The miles are only distance now, I'm saving all my best.

And when we meet embracing kiss, no fear will follow still.

For I have waited oh so long to never have this chill.

setting

Gemstones

Gather the pebbles throughout the years, hidden within the sand.

Discarding most, Treasure a few, hold gently in your hand.

And with the right stroke, you will find there is One,

That shows a faceted face.

Sparkle of Diamonds, softer than petals, enshrouded in pristine lace.

Call it a Gemstone, call it a Jewel

Polish it gently, 'til End.

Some call their find Treasure,

Some Treasure their Find.

I Treasure the One I call Friend!

Sunset

Theirs Alone

If someone said that we're just friends, and time has begun to wane,

Listen as I say the words, give me one day to explain.

A friend is someone you'll always protect, who needs to share your dream,

That needs to walk with you through woods,

Pausing at a long lost stream.

Perhaps you didn't notice the caddis, crawl upon the tree, to dry it's wings in morning sun,

To fly and to be free.

And possibly too you did not feel, the wind upon your face,

That travels the ridgeline filled with snow, and sets the leaves to race.

Maybe you can almost hear, the Eagle that climbs the sky.

On silent wings he screams to me, echoing with his cry.

Watch with me the pine squirrel's chore, selecting cones for winters store.

Hidden in stone rubble, a plover's nest, with feinted injury, she tries her best,

To lead you away from flightless young, trying to protect new lives begun.

If you leave the stones unturned, I can show you what they've earned.

Beneath their moist and dark recess, the sheltered crayfish, who try their best,

To hide from the eyes of roaming trout, cruising the streambed to root them out.

Yes, I can share with gifted eyes, a laugh, a smile, a tear and cries.

Don't ever say,"you're just a friend", I will hold you 'till the end.

For I have been to the edge of life, I have weathered untold strife.

There is no phrase,"just friend", to me, I have lost enough to see,

That listed among my friends are few,

But I feel gifted in selecting you.

Echoes

snow

It's warm inside and yet you lay, enveloped in a chill.

And stare at memories in the dark, a song is with you still.

Some say that what you feel is wrong, but Judgement day's not here.

Your pulse is pounding in the void, of feelings not of fear.

My eyes refuse to close tonight, they search the darkened sea,

So reaching out to touch the thought, it rushes over me.

What should have been--is not right now. What could have been is past.

I share my feelings through my Words, just hoping they will last.

The "Definitions" in my thoughts, though tired I cannot sleep.

In stillness night I wonder now,

Why does this Soldier weep?
