About Chinese New Year
About this Challenge
Chinese New Year is celebrated by Chinese people throughout the world. Children receive gifts of money in red envelopes and many decorations are also red because it is the colour of happiness. The celebrations end with the lantern festival when a parade of paper lanterns, led by a paper lion or dragon, winds its way through the streets.
There are 12 different animals that feature in the chinese calendar and each year is named after one of them, for example, Year of the Tiger, Year of the Rabbit. Can you find out which Year we are in now ?
