- The youth group publishes Pi Logos Monthly Youth Magazine. This is our third year to publish this magazine which has lots of saints stories, cool quotes, proverbs, and poems and other cool stuff. We will begin to mail this magazine in 1998; you can now receive Pi Logos by mail. You can also subscribe to a number of different Coptic Orthodox Email lists and receive such things as quotes, daily readings, stories, and announcements by Email daily.
- The Coptic Basketball Association (CBA) 1998 season has begun; this is a league comprising 8 coptic churches in the Los Angeles and Orange County area strictly for high school-aged youth. Saint Athanasius is represented by a very talented team that promises to contend for the championship again this year. This is the third year for this league. The first year, the team made it all the way to the finals and captured the second place trophy. Last year, we made it to the quarter finals. Congratulations to Saint Mark's Church for winning the 1997 CBA championship. As of October 7, Saint Athanasius has qualified for the playoffs and will face Saint Mark's Church in the Semi-finals on October 11. Well, it is now October 11th. The final score in the semi-final game against Saint Mark's Church was 69-67. Congratulations to Saint Mark for once again winning the championship!!!
- Our Youth Group is sponsoring an online coptic graphics contest. This contest is for all to enter and enjoy.
- We are also working on a CD filled with a mixture of English/Arabic/Coptic hymns and songs. Look for it at your local church bookstore soon!
