Preamble
We the members of the UP HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY, believing that by organizing ourselves into a society will develop our potentialities and be more effective in utilizing HORTICULTURE FOR THE PEOPLE, do ordain and promulgate this constitution and by-laws.

Motto
"HORTICULTURE FOR THE PEOPLE"


Colors
The colors of the society shall be green and yellow.


Seal  

The seal of the society resembles the longitudinal section of a meristem with each primordium representing the four divisions of Horticulture.


Principles
1. We recognize that horticulture plays an important role in the life of our people and in the development of our nation.
2. We also recognize that the quantitative and qualitative advancement of horticulture has been made possible through the efforts of our people.
3. We maintain therefore that the
UP HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY is committed to make horticulture relevant to the needs and aspirations of the people.
4. We maintain further that in order to accomplish this end, the
UP HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY requires the collective support of all its members.


Objectives
1. To enrich horticulture through practice.
2. To promote and develop meaningful horticultural extension.
3. To develop responsible leadership and foster cooperation and mutual assistance among the members of the society.
4. To create awareness of the issues of the times that would be relevant to the ideals of the society.
5. To contribute to the total development of the
UPLB community and ultimately of the larger society.
