NEW ALUMNI OFFICERS

The UP HortSoc alumni elected a new set of officers for 2000-2002 during
the last homecoming.

President:  Lyle Baconguis
Vice-President: Dr Fernando Sanchez Jr.
Secretary: Crisanta Sunio-Bueno
Treasurer: Angelita Galang-Umali
Auditor: Pacita Agustin-Manalo
PRO: Tibo Arejola

Lyle Baconguis, Ang Umali and Leny Bueno are the hold overs from the last
set of officers.  To introduce the new officers:

Our new vice president, Dindo Sanchez, is an assistant professor in the
ornamental crops division of the UPLB Department of Horticulture and holds
a PhD in landscape architecture from the Tokyo University of Agriculture.
Dindo, who is very much single, is currently taking up short courses in
turf management at Rutgers University.

Our auditor, Paz Manalo, is a project development officer for the UPLB
Credit and Development Cooperative with a primary responsibility for
housing.  She is also wife to Dr Dave Manalo of the UPLB Farming Systems
and Soil Resources Institute and mother to Joyce, Aryan and Joshua.

Our PRO, Tibo Arejola, has just made a career move from being a training
officer of the Bonifacio Trees and Greens Corporation, to becoming a
restauranteur. His restaurant 93square is on the 3rd floor of the Vega Mall
just outside the UPLB gate. Tibo and his wife Melissa live in Laguna
Bel-Air in Santa Rosa.

We would also like to thank the previous officers: Ike Barile, vice
president; Ana Tuico-Papag, treasurer and Tess Gerpacio-Sta. Cruz, auditor;
for their support during the past two years.
