2002 already...hard to believe! Time for making and breaking resolutions...hope ALL of you have a wonderful & blessed year. We pray for peaceful times ahead, for it is heartbreaking to see so much hatred, destruction and devastation around the world. It is ironic how it takes horrific events to place things into perspective. The lessons learned during the past year, the things taken for granted, the things overlooked, hopefully will not be forgotten......

This is just to introduce an Aggie who joined the Institute in 1984 i.e. officially in the BSc Ag. course. However, I am an Allahabadi. My dad used to teach in the Ewing Christian College ECC. As a bachelor, in the early sixties he used to share a common mess with other bachelors (at that time), like B.A. David, IH Paul, SJ Singh etc. So I was among the bunch of kids growing up across the Yamuna where the parents knew each other but were working in different BUT related institutions. I studied in the St Joseph's College in Allahabd. and then joined AAI in 1984.
I grew up in my most impressionable years under the HALKA legend (outside the institute)and then I can promise you (Sanjay David now in Australia), when I was admitted into the Institute, we managed to keep the HALKA flame burning. For me and others inspired by HALKA, it stood for freedom, creativity, excellence and celebration of life. I am proud that you guys have put in so much of effort in putting up such an informative site on our Alma Mater.
I work in Delhi with Winrock International. My wife also works in Delhi.
Once again, thank you for keeping the spirit alive. Ghetto blasters, smoke, pilfering oranges from trucks, mess, chapel, new hostel (it still smells the same!) and so much more. Thank you AGGIES for putting the Institute on the net.

Ravi Massey (based in UK), spent last Christmas with his parents and brothers in Allahabad, India. He has 2 kids, Niall (9 yrs.) and Eleanor (7 yrs.). He has recently been promoted and taken up swimming.
Ms. Diana Tomanek had a wonderful time when she visited Allahabad and the Institute last year. She will be writing and sharing her experiences with us. CS KwangKay and wife Sheba Lyndoh opened a gift shop in Sandakan, East Malaysia, some 5 months ago....business is booming and so are they!!!
Dr.Hepesh Shepherd aka Binku, is Dr Henry Shepherd's son. He was about 8 years old when we last saw him and were surprized to hear from him. He married in 1995 to Sapna from Kanpur and they have a 4 yr. old son. Sapna is teaching in Boy's High School and Binku a lecturer in the Horticulture Dept, AAI since 1991.
His mom, senior Mrs. Shepherd still works at St. Joseph's Convent, Allahabad. Sister Binu is a mother of 2 girls.

Thanks for putting all this together. Do you remember me? Pinkie was a bit young when I was at college in 1968 to 72. I do know Kamala.
I married Akhil Ghosh in 1978 in London. Didn't work out though we had a beautiful daughter Jyoti, now 18. I am re-married to Graham for the last 12 years and am still in London and very happy.
Any news of Pradip Brave, Ben Malvea, Asorphie Roy, Vera Chauhan, Pushme, Sister Noella? Do drop me a line.

Mike Watsa at the behest of the Aggies' Coorgie gang, is trying to organise a get-together in Banglore in the 4th week of August 2002. I think this is an excellent idea -- as it would give for a lot of us scattered all over the continent to meet and have fun for at least 2 days in Banglore with our Spouses and Fiancees. I suggest all of us who are located in the various continents -- the Indian Sub Continent included pass the word around and make every effort to help Mike, organise to make this idea a reality. Your TIME, EFFORT and MONEY is important.This event will be strictly on a cash and carry basis with No pay later and IOUs ( Edwin Cutting Style ).
