At Abbottabad Public School we, the “Abbottonians” made a commitment that
“ I shall do the best that I can to help people who are old,
poor, crippled or in distress” and that;
“ Every day I shall do at least one good deed that
will please a fellow human being, without distinction of country,
class, colour or creed ”.
We the members of Abbottonians Medical Association, through the patronage of Abbottonians Old Boys Association, Karachi, and other philanthropist Abbottonians are trying hard to make a difference. Making a difference from sickness to health - from pain to relief - from grief to happiness.
AMA have started a project of helping the children suffering from a deadly disease, Thalassaemia, in which the patient needs blood transfusion every month. So far over 50 such Thalassaemia patients are registered with AMA, who are being regularly provided healthy, screened blood free of any cost. So far AMA has donated over 200 pints of blood to these patients. However, considering the situation of this preventable disease in Pakistan in general and in Hazara division in particular, we are determined to establish a most modern Thalassaemia Centre in Abbottabad for which we have acquired a suitable place at the newly constructed Awan Plaza.
For this very ambitious project we need heavy finances, some of which we have arranged. Still there is a lot more to be done. We request you to extend your cooperation by donating funds for this project, which will indeed lessen the sufferings of these patients and their parents, & moreover, it will boost the name of our Alma mater, to which we owe a lot.[AMA Ac.no.277,MCB]
