Tiger Updates

Tiger Woods is scheduled to play in this weeks PGA Event, The Nissan Open. This was the first event in which Tiger competed as a professional (It was called the Los Angeles Open back then.) He was only 16 years old. Maybe El Nino will let the shine sun so Tiger can win his first event of the year. Note: This week it was officially announced that Tiger signed a deal with Electronic Arts to make a Tiger Woods Golf Video game. I told you he was going to do it!!!

Anyways, here's the T.V. schedule for the Nissan Open.

Tiger Woods and his Dad played in the rainy Pebble-Beach weather and didn't look like they were having much fun. One thing to look forward to is that Tiger will be playing in the Buick Invitational this week.

Tiger Woods is never out of a tournament. Tiger backed up this statement by beating Ernie Els in dramatic fashing by hitting a 2nd playoff hole birdie putt that won him the tournament. Tiger is now due to play at the AT&T Pebble-Beach Pro Am. His playing partner will be his Dad. Tiger looks to finally beat his pal Mark O'Meara who owns that tournament.

Tiger Woods poured it on strong in the final round but was still unable to gain enough ground and tied for 2nd at the Mercedes Championship. Tiger is taking his clubs to Thailand for the Walker Classic and then he comes back to Pebble Beach to partner up with his Dad. That should be fun to watch.

Tiger Woods will be in the spotlight this weekend as he plays in the 1997 Skins Game. Tiger came in third place last year and is sure to want to do better than that this time around. One note is that 2 time Champ Fred Couples has withdrawn from the event because his father is ill. David Duval will take Boom-Boom's place. Last year it was all about 'Drive for Show, Putt for Dough', let's see if Tiger can actually do some putting for dough this time. The 2 day 18 hole event will air on ABC Sat at 1:30 PST and Sun at 12:30 PST. Enjoy.

Tiger Woods didn't do well in the rainy conditions of the final round of the PGA Grand Slam. Tiger only shot 2-under for the day and was passed by Ernie Els who won the event by 3 strokes. Tiger simply missed some key short putts. Look for Tiger to be in the spotlight again in a couple weeks at the '97 Skins Game.

Tiger Woods got a little mad and then made good things happen. After hitting a simple approach shot that went into the water, Tiger recovered by making bogey and then never looked back. Finishing 2-shots in front of Ernie Els, Tiger has taken a 1st round lead in the 2 day PGA Grand Slam tournament. Tiger made some great shots on the final holes to finish at 66 which matches the course record. Tiger looked to be having fun out there as on one hole he even asked his Mom to stop moving while he was trying to make a putt. That was something you don't see everyday. This event is fun to watch as the players have remote mics so you hear just about everything. Coverage continues 11/18 at 4:05 PST on TBS. Enjoy.

Tiger Woods was 6-under par on his way to defend his 1996 Disney Classic title. Starting on the back nine, he shot 3-under through 9 holes and then shot another 3-under through the front. Tiger is just 2 shots in back of current leader Payne Stewart. This is Tiger's first chance to defend a PGA Tour event and says that in the future he always plans to play at tournament where he won the year before. Therefore, I guess we'll be seeing Tiger at the Las Vegas Invitational next! Great start Tiger, it looks like you are back on the prowl!!

Well, so much for all the hype around the 1997 Ryder Cup. Tiger will just have to use that experience to help him improve his performance for his many future Ryder Cup appearances. Sorry that I didn't have any Ryder Cup coverage on my site I was in New York all last week and purposely left my labtop at home. I'm kinda mad though because Tiger and some of the other Ryder Cup members were in New York last week too before they left and I didn't even know about it until now. What's next for Tiger... Well, the Disney Classic is Oct 16-19 and he won there last year but my source said he was gonna skip that tournament, but after his Ryder Cup play he might want to get back on the course soon to prove himself. Otherwise, he will definitely play Oct. 22-26 at the Las Vegas Invitational to defend his title there. That will be a good tournament.

It looks like the next event for Tiger Woods will be the 1997 Ryder Cup. It's gonna be one to watch. The T.V. schedule is listed below. In other breaking news: Do you want to play against Tiger Woods? Do you think you got what it takes? Can you drive the ball 350 yards? Well hopefully real soon with the help of EA Sports you might get your chance! Sources say that EA Sports Video Game makers look like a lock for signing Tiger Woods to a $15 Million Video Game endorsement deal. In my opinion, EA Sports are the hands down BEST Sports Video Game Makers. If Tiger Woods cuts a deal with these guys, look for some top of the line graphics with Tiger doing some patented fist pumping left and right. As they say, "If it's in the game, it's in The Game!" Hey, if you guys at EA Sports need some help, just send me an e-mail!

-A set of Titleist irons for Tiger Woods to play on Tour are "extremely close" to being ready, Woods said Aug. 12 at the PGA Championship at Winged Foot Golf Club in Mamaroneck, N.Y. Woods has been experimenting with three sets and should be playing Titleist irons by January, swing coach Butch Harmon said. Well, Tiger is just kick'n back for a little while. After staying for an extra week over in Europe Tiger has yet to announce he will play in any tournament before the PGA Championship 8/14-8/17. He's definitely not playing in the Sprint International so that only leaves that Buick Open before the PGA Champ. We'll have to wait and see, but I wouldn't be surprised if a whole month off is in Tiger's plans. He deserves some time off. Hope he enjoys it!

I finally met Tiger Woods!!!! I followed Tiger Woods, Kevin Costner, Bryant Gumbel, and Steve Stricker for their entire 1st round which they played at Spyglass Hill at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am tournament. I took about 30 pictures of Tiger and the group and will scan them and display them on this site as soon as I can. I also gave Tiger a high-five after he made a bird on one of the holes. It was a great day over 6 hours of watching the best golfer in the world! As for Tiger's play, he was 2-under as he missed some key short putts. But as I was watching, Tiger was just having fun and didn't really have that look in his eye just yet. That will come in the final rounds.
