due to injury. Represented Queensland at the 2001 Australasian Games in
Melbourne. In 2002 broke the seniors record for most points in a game. Occupation:

Kennedy
From Shinrone, near Birr, County Offaly, Ireland.
Had never played Gaelic football until migrating to Australia and
joining Shamrocks in 2001. Member of the ladies 2001 Championship
winning team. Brother Gordon Kennedy represented Ireland in the 4 x 400
athletics team at the Sydney Olympic Games. Cousin of the Franks boys
of the Offaly senior hurling team.
Tim Mapley
Interests: Enjoys ogling people through key holes.
Enjoys wearing other peoples clothing. Harassing mime
artists.
Individual Highlights: Claims to have invented
belching. An accredited Level 3 Lap Dancing Coach. Once
married a lampshade on a dare (was later divorced!)

In Brief: A former 'Man Power' frontman, Tim says he
"Doesn't mind being mistaken on the street for Ricky Martin
anymore". He has campaigned tirelessly for the
re-introduction of flared trousers and currently spends most
of his time serving as a fashion warning to others. (Debuted in 1999
but played limited games in 2000 due to injury. Has returned to
Shamrocks for 2002.)

Queensland minors representative. Shamrocks longest-continuous-serving
player of around 10 years or so. Shamrocks committee member in 2000,
2001 and 2002, Queensland Gaelic Football Association
committee member in 2001. Scored his first career point in 2001, and
from then on it was near-impossible to get him out of corner forward.
Shamrocks reserves Most Improved award-winner in 2001.
Shelly Matcham
Outstanding debut year in
2001 with limited appearances. Finished as Shamrocks' eighth-leading
scorer with 1 goal 8 points from wing-back. Member of the Australian
touch-football team. One of the best on ground as Shamrocks won the
2001 Queensland Championship.
Keegan McCarthy
Debuted for Shamrocks in
2001, winning the seniors Best First Year Player award.
Darren
McDonnell
Debuted for Shamrocks in
2001. Getting married in November, and looking for people to come to
his buck's party starting a month before.
Clarissa McKay
Queensland
representative at the 1997 Australasian Games in New Zealand. Played
with Shamrocks in 1997-1998 and returned in 2000. Queensland Rose of
Tralee entrant in 2000 (and definitely a high vote getter!).
Don McMillan - Donnie or The Don
Debuted in 1998, Shamrocks reserves Most Improved Player award winner in 1999,
and again a solid player in 2000. Possibly the most photogenic in the
club (see right).
Shannon Meibusch
Occupation and nickname: Barber, Choppy
Characteristics: Bossy, stubborn, team player,
athletic, Queenslander spirit (keep on trying)
Sporting Highlights: Played in the Australasian
Gaelic Games in 1993-94, losing 1993 semi final to Western
Australia, uncle selected to play in Queensland City/Country
rugby league match. Shamrocks Best & Fairest Minor in 1995. Did not
play in 1999 because he got married. His return in 2000 was hampered by
injury. Played the first half of 2001.
Andrew Meiklejohn
Debuted in 2000 and scored 1 point from defence. Played for Queensland
against the touring Connaught schools all-star team in 2001.
Stuart Meiklejohn
Debuted in 1999. Set a record for Shamrocks with 4 points
in the Reserves Championship final in 1999. Played in the Senior
Championship final in 2000. Played for Queensland against the touring
Connaught schools all-star team in 2001. QGFA Sports Day 1500m champion in 2003.
Renee Moynihan
Queensland
indoor soccer representative, and Queensland Gealic football
representative at the 1998 and 2000 Australasian Games. 2000
Australasian All-Star selection. Leading scorer for Shamrocks in 1999
before requiring a knee reconstruction mid-season. Still finished as
Shamrocks third-leading scorer with 14 goals 10 points. Came back in
2000 to finish as Shamrocks second-leading scorer with 26 goals 35
points. Holds Shamrocks records for highest score in a game, most goals
in a game, and most goals in a season. Missing in 2001 due to a further
knee injury sustained at the Australasian Games. Returned to Shamrocks
in 2002.
Brent Nolan
Debuted in 1999, and named Shamrocks reserves and Queensland reserves Best &
Fairest Player. Limited games in 2000 due to having to commute from
Rockhampton. (The bus service isn't all that regular.) Quit his
Rockhampton job so he could return to Shamrocks in 2002.
Ronan O'Mahony
Debuted in 2000, and finished as Shamrocks ninth-leading scorer with 3
goals 3 points. A good forward for the reserves again in 2001.
David O'Malley
Rejoined Shamrocks in 2001
after a three year hiatus. Australian permanent resident originally from
Ballinakill, Enfield, in County Meath, Ireland. Brother of former
Shamrocks award winner Michelle O'Malley.
Eugene O'Mara
Debuted for Shamrocks in
2001 with 1 goal 1 point having played well in positions both ends of
the field.
Joann O'Neill
Represented Queensland in both
Soccer, and in Gaelic football, playing at the Australasian
Gaelic Games in 1997 (New Zealand), 1998 (Brisbane), and 1999 (Perth). Shamrocks second-leading scorer
in 1999 with 18 goals 21 points. 1999 Shamrocks ladies Most
Improved award winner. Fifth-leading scorer in 2000 with 7 goals 12
points. Equalled the club record with 8 points in a game in 2001.
Member of the 2001 Championship winning team.
Louise O'Neill
Three-time Queensland and
Australasian All-Star selection 1997-1998-1999. Shamrocks leading
scorer in 1999 with 11 goals 46 points, and again leading-scorer in 2000
with 23 goals 50 points. Holds the Shamrocks ladies records for most
points in a season and highest score in a season. Member of the
Australasian team in 2000 that won the World Cup for the first time. Spent
early 2001 in Ireland, and returned to be a member of the 2001
Championship winning team and the team's fourth-leading scorer.
