Superhero Costume Research Project

Hi! I first made these pages for a powerpoint presentation for a Theater II Costume Project. I couldn't find anything out on the internet about how to costume superheroes, so I made this page to solve that problem. - /^>

Let's take a look at some basic examples of Superhero Costumes...

Here we have two good examples of your basic male costume. Most male costumes come under two catergories: body-suits and armor. Body-suit types of costumes come with a variety of add-ons: boots, capes, masks, helmets, gloves, wings, etc.

The armor costume consists of body armor, helmet, boots, and usually a holdster with a sword, or some type of "super" weapon. And unlike Batman here, most hero costumes usually have bright colors, mainly the primary colors; such as with the Power Rangers, Thundercats, most DC Heroes, etc.

These are my fine examples of female costumes. Like the guys, they also come in body-suits and armor. Many consist of either a short skirt and shirt, a dress of some sort, or a pants combo. (seen with Miss Marvel above). They also come in many different bright colors. Their shoes are mostly either slick short heels (like Venus has) or big chunky 70's boots. And also like the men, women tend to wear masks, cowls, and capes, but some still don't.

Please remember that since there are over millions of superheroes out in the universe that it's impossible for me to actually show a basic costume that is likened to them all. If you do have any more info on costuming heroes and villains please e-mail me. I'd be glad to put your stuff on my page and YES, I will give you credit for it.

Soon the Villians page will be up with some comments on how they dress. Thanks for reading!
