Button Competitions
An award-winning tray of china buttons
from the November,1999 Texas Button Society Meeting
(The image does take a few minutes to load.)

Competing in a state competition
is a great way to learn more about your buttons...
and to see the beautiful buttons that others have collected.
Above is an example of a tray entered into competition.
The award called for 42 size small china buttons
to represent a summary of china types.
For competitions the buttons are mounted on a 9" X 12" matte board card.
The circle designs are optional (and not a part of the judging),
but the buttons should be placed in an attractive and neat manner.
In addition to state-level competitions,
button collectors convene once a year
at the National Button Society Meeting
for competition, learning, buying and selling...
and just to meet collectors from all over the world.
