![]() ~ From Busy Bee Allison ~ Scott and I met through work. I was the receptionist and he was the salesman. In 1997 I worked as a receptionist for a company which sold, repaired, and installed audio and video equipment for recording studios, TV and radio stations, etc. .Scott was the sales rep. for the company we bought our cable from. He made calls to our office 3 or 4 times a week. Since I answered the phone, I got to know his voice and we struck up a casual friendly relationship strictly over the phone. You see Scott's company in in Chicago, Illinois and my compnay is in Atlanta, Georgia. There was no way we would ever meet. After some period of time I moved up in the company and we hired another girl to answer the phones. One day I happend by the receptionist desk just as she was placing Scott on hold. I picked up the phone to chat with him for a few minutes while he was waiting for his call to be taken. I had not spoken to him in a while and wanted to know what he was up to. I meant it as a purely platonic gesture but Scott took it as something else. The friendship grew from there. We eventually exchanged email addresses and after a few aborted attempts at chatting online we exchanged home phone numbers. I guess that was the beginning of the end. Our relationship grew from "friends" to something "more". But having not met each other...we were not sure how much more. I flew to Chicago to meet him. And I guess it was love at first site although we had already become attached to each other over the phone. He propsed to me the first night we were together and we were married a short time later. I moved to Chicago and that was two years ago. |
