Learning Experience for All
The Girl Scout program is an informal educational program designed to help girls put into proactive the fundamental principles of the Girl Scout Movement as set forth in their Preamble. It is carried out in small groups with adult leadership and provides a wide range of activities developed around the interests and needs of girls.

Here are the different groups young ladies can participate in when joining Girl Scouts.
Daisy Girls Scouts are girls 5 & 6 years old, or in Kindergarten or first grade. Meeting in small troops, they make new friends, share with each other, go places, and have adventures together.
Brownie Girl Scouts are girls who are 6, 7, & 8 years old, or in the first through third grades. They can earn the 40 Brownie Try-it patches. Brownie Girl Scouts take field trips, help others in their communities, and make group decisions on activities.
Junior Girl Scouts are girls 8 to 11 years old, or in the third through sixth grades. They can earn proficiency badges in the five worlds of interest as well as four special signs. Junior Girl Scouts learn decision-making skills through troop government. They explore careers and have exciting adventures as a group.
Cadette and Senior Girl Scouts are girls who are 11 to 17 years old, or in the sixth through twelfth grades. Through special events called Wilder Opportunities, these Girl Scouts travel around the block or around the world. Cadette and Senior Girl Scouts explore many worlds through interest project patches, career exploration activities and a leadership development program. Girls may work toward the Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest award in Girl Scouting. |
