Flaky Biscuits

Ingredients
2 cups flour 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
4 tsp. baking powder 1/2 cup butter, chilled
3 Tbsp. sugar 3/4 cup milk
1/2 tsp. salt

Mix dry ingredients. Cut in butter until mixture forms clumps the size of peas. Mix in milk until blended. Do not over mix. Form into a ball. Pat on a floured board to 3/4" thickness. Cut biscuits and place on ungreased cookie sheet 13" x 9" x 2". Bake at 475 for 10 minutes, or until golden brown.
