South Africa: Pet Dogs Page

Calliope is a brown Dobermann Pinscher born on 30 November 1997. She came to us with a malnutrition problem: the bones in her front legs are not properly formed and she is half the size she should be. Notwithstanding, she is incredibly game and full of fun, and has a mind of her own - I can see she's going to be a handful to train. She loves chewing on Sherry*, and just keeps coming back for more when she is sat on by the Great Gallumph. She will be joining her big sister at puppy classes very soon. We've been using clicker training for housetraining her, but it's backfired somewhat - now she just wees whenever she sees Michael! Calliope is owned by Michelle Culverwell, who lives in Johannesburg.

Right - Duke cuddling with Michelle Culverwell. Michelle writes: "His ear looks cropped because he lost half of it to a Staffie. That's his father, Mark, in the corner." I don't know which page you will put him on though - he was born in South Africa and lived here until he was over 7, but now has emigrated to Vancouver, Canada with his father.
