I found I was getting a lot of hits on my page but not any signing of my guestbook, no comments in e-mail from the e-mail links at the bottom of each page. I put a little table, saying Sign Guestbook and E-Mail me, at the bottom of a few pages and I started getting a lot of guestbook signings and e-mails coming from my pages.

Not many people will e-mail you from an e-mail link but with a little prompt like the Page Comment Generator you'd be surprized how many people that normally wouldn't respond will, using this tool.

I am interested in learning how to build web tools and so this is my first project. I'd like to share it with those of you that would like a Comment Generator on your page to get more feed back on your page.

There are five bacis forms on this tool:

• A Text Box


• A Text Area


• A Check Box


• Radio Buttons


• Pop Up (pull down menu)

If you use it I'd appreciate it if you'd send me a link to your site so I may come see it and sign your guestbook and I will add a link to your site to generate more hits for you.

To see examples of how some people have adapted it to their pages see the list below the code. Some of these are really creative. Check them out and use their comment generators while your there to tell them if you like what they did with it and/or comment on their page.

All of the text in CAPITOL letters NEED to be changed to your own information.

In the "check box" and "radio" cells (areas) note how the boxes and buttons are in a straight vertical line. Note also you'll see ~ Now   <<>br> ~ with extra spaces between "Now" and <<>br>. Those where put there by holding down the "Alt" key and tapping the "Space Bar" a certain number of times.

Notice how "Guestbook" and "E-Mail Me" both take up nine spaces. That balances the two sides out and makes those cells the same width. So down in the "check box" and "radio" cells all the words (including spaces) should take up nine spaces or less per line. This only applies to the text outside the codes. Take the longest line in that area and count the spaces it takes up and make the other lines have the same amount before you put the <<>br> line break in. That keeps your boxes and buttons in a straight line.

If you add <<>options> in the "pop up" it doesn't matter what length (with in reason) as the choice button has a lot of room to expand with out exceeding the width of the text area.

If you mess it all up, don't fret you can always come back and start all over. Heres the code. Enjoy.
