LOVEJOY, SHEPHERD posted by Tony Shepherd on Monday, June 4, 2001: Abraham Shepherd married Sara Lovejoy on 1823, in Jasper County. They lived in what is now the Charlie Elliot Wildlife Center, Clybel Farms. They lived almost on the Newton County line. I believe his brother William L. Shepherd lived in Newton County. Does anyone know anything about this Shepherd line?

Their son,ALEXANDER HAMILTON BROOKS,was born in (or around) Gainesville on June 26, 1872. According to the 1790-1890 GA Census (accessed through Ancestry.com, there was a J.N.BROOKS in Newton Co.GA (Conyers P.O.)in 1860(p.534, Federal Population Schedule - GA1860 Federal Census Index: GA37016873) Are there any records on J.N. other than the census record?
