kfamily's Introduction Page

The Kfamily Crest!

Welcome to the Kfamily's Home page

This web site is a graphical representation of our own Customized bookmarks that we use to search the net, find subject references and generally surf the web.

Blazon of Arms: Gules (The heraldic color red), three fish or hauriant. Translation: The gules denotes military fortitude, the fish denotes noble birth.

This is the closest thing I could find to our Family Crest. I am assuming that most of the current family crests are created on demand and have less to do with the family origin. The main problem with this is that there is little or no standardization and therefore not much freely available information on the internet. (You certainly can buy a manufactured one easily thought)!

Introspect

As you might have guessed, I am not freely giving out our family 'specifications'. I believe that there must be some privacy on this huge billboard we call the internet. I do believe that there needs to be some sort of accountability. I am trusting the 'monitors' of the internet such as the web masters who have graciously provided this space. I also believe that people who surf must report 'inappropriate' behavior. I am constantly, like I hope all of us are, trying to help define this...

Chat Page

This page includes instructions and locations of chat areas that I frequent. They include text, pictorial and audio chat pages and the tools I use. I am not always talkative but interject here and there or just listen to the current discussions.

Christian Page

Now you have asked for it! By continuing to read on, you are open all sorts of interesting topics... My goal is to pattern my morals after Jesus Christ's example on earth. This is an insurmountable task that, in my mind, makes life worth living. Jesus was very clear on what is expected of us all. It is also very easy to understand what he and life is all about. Relationships! (Thanks Pastor Rich!) Multiple Christian World Wide Web (WWW) sites abound the Internet. For example on line bibles seem to be abound on the Internet. The point of my christian page contains Topics and useful links.

Computer Page

Internet technology boom starts here. This page contains mostly internet and general shareware sites. They also include Animation and Virtual Reality site. Animation are the most popular sites some requiring audio and animation plugins (i.e. Macromedia's Shockwave). Virtual Reality sites take a lot of download time but could be a wave of the future. The Shareware sites contain either interesting programs or large amounts of free software. Usually shareware software have time or number of levels limit or continously provide an anoying message. (Sometimes both) but what the hey - it's free. There are also shareware or FAQ sites related specifically to internet. These are the popular free clipart sites or link list of sites.

Cooking Page

Mostly recipes. My favorite, Links to sites containing thousands of recipes, tips and sites describing gadgets are all included on this page.

Entertainment Page

Companies, Theaters, Schedules, Reviews and FAQs. There are sites for practically every movie. Some with previews and/or photos. Movie (and Sometimes Television) Studio World Wide Web (WWW) Home pages that feature their current releases and links to other related products. Television Studios, Networks and Schedules. Books, Publishers, Libraries and Stories (See Reference for more). Music/Record industries and America's No. 1 form of Entertainment; Shopping On-line shopping is growing by leaps and bounds.

Games Page

On-line games are becoming more and more abundant on the WWW. With more powerful browsers and their plug-ins, it make them possible. Caution: It may take some time for some of them to start/load. Many newer games support multiple players over the internet. This page describes some of my experiences.

Magazines Page

More and More magazines are putting portions of their isses online. This page contains lists of magazines many with a custom interface. It includes links to Time, Life, TV Guide, Readers Digest and many many more plus other search features and links such as news, software and internet specials. Only on Internet Magazines are also included as these become more and more popular. These are some of the Magazines only available on the internet (not available in print).

Mail Page

The Crushed Card Company sends electronic greeting cards. There are several out! This page also lists ways of getting your own free mail boxes (like P.O. Boxes), and (if you must) ways of contacting me.

Music Page

This is where I can find most of the Midi base sites including software and songs for me to upload. There are also many free programs for listening to all sorts of computer generated music. This is a small description for a very large page with some of my own creations.

News Page

We gave up our newspaper because all of major papers and news services are available for free. This includes Comics, Weather, Local, Sports, Business, Entertainment, Coupons, and International instant reports. These are some of the links and programs we use to get news quicker than we ever were able to get it before. It also includes on-line tv guides, Weather, Traffic, Earthquake and new programs.

Phone & Directories Page

This page includes several Internet, Phone, (800), business and personnal international directories. I have also placed Home Buyer Guide and other topical search Sites under this category. As with any directory, it does not include unlisted or missed listings of which there are many.

References Page

This is the largest page that contains any online reference materials including search engines. The heart of a good internet system is the search engines since there are millions of pieces of information out there on hundreds of thousands of sites. Search engines are just large databases of topics and pointers to the last known location of each, updated (on the good ones) regularly. Cool sites can give you maps of any country in the world. In some cases it will let you zoom down to the street name level. Electronic on-line Libraries. These are still pretty small but the concept is growing. The internet itself is really the best library. Copyright laws prevent many contemporary literature without author/publisher's permission from being available.

Closing

What is the point? This billboard is a forum for topics I find interesting and to invite thought and discussion. In the coming months, I hope to complete most of the pages on this web site with information and (hopefully) interesting ideas for whoever is reading.
