The Dani Family

      The Danis

      The Danis are my original family. They included Missy, Pookie, and their various offspring. Alas all the Danis are now gone = ( but there are still some "adopted" members that lived with the Danis.

      Sub-Family Lautrera

      The Lautreras are an offshoot family from the Danis. They included Missy & Pookie's daughter Phoebe and her mate Ciaran. They had several litters but they, along with one of their daughters & her cagemate, are no longer with us = ( For more details, see the memorial page.

        Vox, Song, and Trust - the 3 argente girls from Phoebe's last litter. They have since passed on.

      Sub-Sub Family Kelly

      The Kellys are an offshoot family of the Lautreras. They include Phoebe & Ciaran's daughter Adia and her mate Riven.

        Riven & Adia - a grey agouti spot male and argente golden female. Adia has since passed away, but Riven is still alive and well in NYC with Kathleen.
        Gemedet - a sapphire (or dove?) female. She has since passed on.
        Zeus & Minerva - an argente spot male and a polar fox female. Both have passed away.

      The Family D'Arcey

      The D'Arcey are kind of an offshoot of the Kellys. They include Adia & Riven's ex-son-in-law (his mate beat him up poor guy!) and his new cagemate.

        Darwin & Sympatico - a grey agouti male and a black pied male. Both are living happily in NYC.

      The Fox Family

      The Fox family are a siamese and pink eyed white I "imported" from Wisconsin.

        Dana & Fox - a siamese female and pink eyed white male. Both have passed on.

      The Reilly Family

      The Reillys are a family that I got from Mindy Arledge in NJ, they are extremely sweet = )

        Eve & Reilly - a schimmel female and champagne male. Both Reilly & Eve are no longer with us.
        Hafwen & Linnea - a dark eyed honey (unrelated) female and a champagne female. Both have passed away.

      The Danziger Family

      The Danzigers are another family I got from Mindy, with the intent to breed Polar Fox. I was successful ;) They are made of the original pair, and their daughter & her mate.

        Adair & Danziger - a black female and agouti male. Adair passed away, but Danziger is alive and well in DE. (not with me tho)
        Mary-Eben & Elan - a polar fox female and an agouti male. Both have passed away.

      The McLachlan Family

      The McLachlans are a family that I got to breed colorpoints, because Dana & Fox weren't producing ;)

        Lilith & Ashwin - a light colorpoint nutmeg female and a siamese male. Lilith found a new home (with one of their daughters), but Ashwin passed away shortly after I left for college.

      So what gerbils DO I have??

      You may think this page is rather morbid, since all these gerbils are dead. Consider it a memorial. I still love sharing the photos of these beautiful little ones while they were alive (well, some are still alive, in their new homes). I do still have 4 gerbils. They are:

      Sheridan - PEW male (Dana x Fox)
      Me, Myself & I - PEW females (Dana x Fox)

      Some of them suffer from seizures, which is why I kept them. Or more correctly, why I left them in my mother's care rather than placing them (no rodents allowed in dorms unfortunately!) Sheridan lives by himself, while Me, Myself & I (who are identical of course) live together.

      Current Litters

      I would like to thank some very important people without whom this "clan" would not exist. They are the several breeders that have, over the years, provided me with the absolute best-tempered, nicely-colored, lovely bunch of gerbils. While most of my gerbs are "home-grown" there are a few breeders who deserve my undying thanks. They are Donna Dekay of Delaware (Pookie), Kelly Christenson of Wisconsin (Dana, Fox, Lucy, Riven), Lisa Harrell of Maryland (Hafwen, Sympatico), Heather Schwartz of South Dakota (Lilith), Kate Potter of New York (Ashwin, Banner, Darwin) and Mindy Arledge of New Jersey (Adair, Danziger, Eve, Reilly, Elan).
