Emily and Vincent have an uneventful ride through the city. She talks her head off, he does his best to ignore her.
"You know I once stole a Ferrari with a chihuahua in the back seat?"
Vincent commented after her monologue.
"It made less noise than you do."
Vincent manages to dump Emily on the side of the road, and goes to a convenience store to buy himself a bottle of liquor. He catches a bit of a news report that says his warehouse went up in flames and the girl who he left to walk to a rest stop is actually Emily T. Hope, an supposedly kidnapped heiress. And the police think that Vincent is their prime suspect!
He finds her and cajoles her back into the car, promising her a Twinkie in return for her assistance in getting him out of the mess that he's in. Unfortunately for him, Emily has no intention of going back to her father, a cold, unfeeling man who sees her as a nuisance.
"Daddy, he made me touch his penis!"
Emily says into the phone as Vincent stands by. Emily's having too much fun to stop now. She handcuffs herself to Vincent's car and swallows the key, despite his attempts to retrieve it. They ride on in silence until Emily gets a call from "Uncle" Ray Perkins, an ex-CIA agent who assists Mr. Hope in his parenting when Emily gets out of hand.
Emily assures Uncle Ray that she's fine, tells him to leave her alone, and tosses her cellphone. Vincent dumps her at the nearest motel, leaving her with a bottle of alcohol. She proceeds to get very drunk.
Vincent makes it to his little cabin in the woods where he hopes to get some shut-eye before he has to meet with his employer's employees and give them the money he owes them, but it is not to be. . .
