It thrives on sheer
enthusiasm, dedication and hard work of thousands of people.
.
The promotions van is available to
attend schools, fairs and many other community events. It is staffed by
an enthusiastic team. It can act as a PA system and play music between
announcements. It can link directly to the parent station or broadcast
direct. The team can be seen and heard at many events around the Fleurieu
talking with students, residents and visitors smartly attired in EFM white
shirts complete with logo and caps to match.
Sponsorship of is a way of supporting
the EFM financially, as well as being as an effective promotional tool.
Unlike the ABC or commercial sectors, which are funded by the government
and advertising levies respectively, EFM as a community broadcaster and
relies on donations, subscriptions and sponsorship to keep it running.
Membership
Subscription is where listeners can subscribe to the station for a fee, and receive regular updates such as program guides and the opportunity to win prizes on-air, as well as lots of warm-and-fuzzies from helping your community station. You can now subscribe to EFM phone 08 8552 5655 for form.
In the media, subscription is a
concept unique to public or community stations. You pay for the national
broadcasters
(ABC & SBS) through your taxes.
You pay for the commercial broadcasters through the surcharge on goods
& services
which in turn pays for the cost
of advertising. So it's reasonable to ask you to pay for listening to your
favourite community station! The only difference is that we don't make
it compulsory.
The subscription fees for EFM are
$15 Concession, $25 for Employed Single Subscribers, $25 Family, and $30
to become a Business Subscriber.
Sponsorship
Sponsorship promotion follows similar
rules as advertising but since we are a community radio station we must
say sponsorship not advertising. Sponsorship is where businesses and other
interested bodies allow us to promote their products and services, whether
on-air, or in the EFM Program Guide, in exchange for financial support.
The only difference between the commercial and community radio sectors,
is that community radio station have to "tag" their announcements with
acknowledgement of support by the sponsor for the station.
