Mariah will perform My All/Stay While with Lord Tariq and Peter Gunz and receive the Aretha Franklin Award for entertainer of the year at the Soul Train - Lade Of Soul Awards on Thurs Sept 3/98. Check local listings for time & channel. Also, there's a new Mariah book coming out in Oct/98. It's called Mariah Carey Revisited and it's be Chris Nickson, the same author as Mariah Carey - Her Story. The cover to the left is what it's gonna look like. News about Mariah's duet with Whitney Houston: The song, When You Believe, will be the theme song for an animated movie from DreamWorks, called The Prince Of Egypt. The movie will open on Dec 20/98 in the US and in January/99 in Australia. The soundtrack will be out in Nov/98 - Aug 23/98

It's official! I read in the Toronto Sun last week (hey, I haven't gotten to updating till now) that Mariah's new album will be released on Nov 10/98. No title or any other info on it yet, but rumours around the web say that it will be called The Evening Star. But who knows, it could be just rumours. However, I'm confident about the Nov 10 release date now. -Aug 6/98
As most of you already know, Mariah did a duet with JD (Jermaine Dupri), called Sweetheart. It's on his latest CD, Life In 1472. If you have RealAudio, listen to the song (from CDnow), it's great. It will be released as a single in a month or two. -July 24/98
Mariah once again collaborated with Bone Thugs-N-Harmony on a song called Bluelight which will be on the upcoming Bone album, to be released in August. On another note, Mariah has signed up to play the villain's daughter in Double O-Soul (click the link for more details). -July 15/98

If you don't, then check it out anyways, they say the results will be up within a week. Right now you can vote for Mariah for Favourite Pop Artist. Another poll that everyone's heard of already: She's up against Shania Twain in the Photoplay - You Sexy Thing poll. (Just for the record: I think they chose really bad pics) I didn't know who to vote for so I didn't vote at all. I don't know when that poll is closing though, so vote now while you can.

There's a new Mariah single out: My All/Stay Awhile (JD Remix, featuring Lord Tariq and Peter Gunz). I've been hearing it on radio a lot. It's a faster version of My All with some new lyrics added. Mariah is about to sign a new guy group to Crave. They're called The Buicks and are made up of 4 brothers. That's all I know right now. For more on Crave, see my brand new Crave page. Also, she was on BET's Planet Groove on Tuesday, March 24/98. It lasted 2 hours. It was basically a long interview with her. She didn't perform, but they showed some of her videos: Honey remix, The Roof, Breakdown, Butterfly, Always Be My Baby remix, One Sweet Day and at the end My All (it got cut off though, I was mad!). Near the end 7 Mile came on to chat and to perform. They're one of the new groups on Crave. They performed Just A Memory and Do Your Thing (I think that's what it's called, I'll have to check to make sure). -Mar 29/98

Another award for Mariah: She won the Blockbuster Entertainment Awards Favourite Female Pop Vocalist for Butterfly on Tues, March 10/98, beating out Celine Dion and Sarah McLachlan. -Mar 14/98

Mariah signed R&B guy group 7 Mile to Crave. The quartet named after a street in Detroit, features Luther "Squeaky" Jackson, Glynis "Lil' G" Martin, Seantezz "Tezz" Robinson and Deion "D" Lucas. The group, who's single "Just a Memory" is already in stores. And their debut is out on April 14. (VIBE) -March 5/98

The Roof will be the next single in Europe; To be released on March 9 in UK, February 23 in Germany, February 16 in 
Norway. In Australia, Breakdown was released on February 6. Her next music video will be My All. Finally it will be out, I just don't know when. I love that song though! Anyways, she'll start filming her movie, All That Glitters in November/98, it's supposed to take about 3 months. Mariah would play a young singer who overcomes adversity to become a superstar. The soundtrack to her new film will be inspired by the music of 70s, soul not disco, and that she'd be collaborating with a bunch of artists. From other sources: On the B-Side of the My All single, there will be an unreleased track, Let Me Know. There are also rumours that it will have another unreleased track, Alive That's all for now. -Feb 18/98
One more award for Mariah - she won for best Soul/R&B Female Artist at the American Music Awards, beating our Mary J Blige and Toni Braxton. Unfortunately she couldn't make it to the show, she's in Tokyo. They showed her performance of My All via satellite. -Jan 27/98
