Appearance:
A bit obvious with all the piccies on this site, ne? Actually, in the anime he has more of a brownish hair-colouring, while in the manga I get the impression it is black. Most stunning feature - those lovely golden eyes ::smiles:: To add to that, he is a lean, agile 5 feet 9 inches tall (um...providing I converted the centemeters to inches properly).
Birth, Family & Bloodtype:
Hotohori was born in Eiyo, the capital of the Konan Empire on the 2nd of April. At the time of the story's beginning he was 18 years of age. He has two younger sisters, one younger and two older brothers - all of whom are from different mothers. I believe that he is actually the child of one of his father's concubines, rather then the Empress herself. Through is mother's trickery, he is able to move inline for the throne - becoming the 4th Emperor of Konan.

Hobbies & Abilities:
According to information I've seen on trading cards and the like, his hobbies are often listed as reading and fashion (eh...needs a bit more help in that area, IMO anyway. I may be the only one to think this - but Tamahome has much better attire then Hori-sama does). On a side note I'd add to that list looking in mirrors :)
His main ability would be swordsmanship - and it just happens to help that he has this Diety Sword which allows for killing demons and things of that nature :) As the series progressed, he also showed the ability to levitate and, what I guess you could call, teleport.

Character Info:
He's vain, but adorably so and you can't really blame him - I mean, after all - take a look at that pic up in the upper left ::smiles:: GOREGOUS!
However, if you look deeper you'll find a caring, intelligent and very lonely individual. Growing up in the Imperial Palace may sound grand, but in all honesty it can make for a very empty life (ever notice how sad he appears in childhood images). You can't help but feel for him: he had to grow up fast (he ascended the throne at the age of 14), contend with a mother who apparently used him 'as her puppet' for her own gain and constantly place the affairs of the empire before his own feelings and desires. Something as simple as having a friend was even denied him (until the Seishi arrived, anyway) - those around him giving the respect due to his position but never anything more. He has admitted to feeling like "a bird in a golden cage" - his isolation in the palace giving him a certain naivete to the ways of the world. For all this he is a gentle and thoughtful person - careing deeply for the nation he rules over.
In his attempt to find a bit of happiness and hope for the future, he created the dream that, when the Priestess of Suzaku appeared, he would find true love with her, but even that is not to be. ::poor Hotohori::
