SONS OF THUNDER (Spring, CBS) In this Walker, Texas Ranger spin-off, Marco Sanchez and Jimmy Wlcek set up shop as P.I.'s. Executive producer Chuck Norris will make periodic appearances. (This is NOT referring to the series being picked up for fall, it is referring to the six episode trial run that aired between March 6, 1999, and April 20, 1999) From TV Guide early 1999: SPINNING OFF: Jimmy Wlcek and Marco Sanchez, who have previously appeared on Walker as Cordell's proteges, will return for a few episodes leading up to the winter debut of their new spin-off series, Sons of Thunder, which is also being produced by the Norris brothers for CBS. (Likewise, this is NOT referring to the series being picked up, only to the trial run) This is a little blurb I found on some soap opera page a while back about Jimmy... James Wlcek, who was on "Ryan's Hope," "As the World Turns," and "One Life to Live," co-stars with Chuck Norris in the CBS film, "Walker, Texas Ranger, Sons of Thunder," scheduled to air on May 4. Wlcek admits the film is a pilot for a potential series in which he'll continue with his character. "I'm really excited to be working with Chuck Norris," he says. "I hope the series works out, and I have a feeling it will." Wlcek, who holds a High Orange Belt in Tae Kwon Do, did most of the stunts himself. "I was a little uneasy at first, but I got over it and just had fun." Not only does the popular action star's company produce CBS-TV's Walker, Texas Ranger, he periodically makes movies of the week and, as of next month, gets involved in a second TV series in the city. Sons of Thunder, a Walker spinoff, rumbles into production on Dec. 9. CBS has ordered six episodes of the summer replacement series that will shoot through March 3.
