Dues
are
DUE

Dues for 1996 are now
payable. Amount is $15.00.
Our expenses for insurance,
transporting modules, repair
of modules, supplies, newslet- ler, postage, mailbox, etc.,
amounts to about $500.00
each year. Last year we
received $200.00
income from the
Bardstown show but they
are not paying this year. We
need all members to pay
their dues by March 1st. Minutes

President John Welther
presided at the February
meeting. Ricky Huff was
introduced as a new mem-
ber. Dues are due by March
1st. $15.00 per year. The
Bardstown Doll Toy and
Train exhibit February 24 &
25 was offered. Need to con-
firm. (NOTE: WE WILL
NOT GO TO BARDSTOWN
SINCE NO MONEY WAS
OFFERED FOR OUR PAR-
TICIPATION) March 16th

MODEL TRAIN EXPO at
the Cumberland Division
Spring Show. Setup is the
night before. The dates of
February 8, 15 and 22 were
set for repairs of member
modules and club corners.
Face boards are to be paint-
ed a new color: CASINO
GREEN semi-gloss latex.
Club has the paint. Back
boards need repainting and
should be 1/4 masonite.
remember that 12 inches is
the visible height above the
plywood top. David Boyd
will check to find a way to
connect backboards so they
line up straight at joints.
Jay Jones and John Oakes
will chair a committee to
review and revise standards
to be published soon. As
soon as all members are in a
club roster will be distrib-
uted with the next newslet-
ter. Paul Schnoes reported on
the TRAIN EXPO for the
Center for Economic
Development. Dates are
Friday May 10, Saturday
May 11 and Monday May
13, 1996. Set up time is
Thursday night 6:00 P.M.
On Friday and Monday
hours are set for 8:30 A.M.-
2:30 P.M. Saturday 9:00
A.M.-5:00 P.M. We need all
to help. Club photos of mem-
bers will be made on
Saturday at 11:00 A.M. The
Center will take care of pub-
licity. Bill White fo CSX will
present Operation Lifesaver
on Saturday and Monday
and Operation Pride will
show "Beauty of the
Southland" video at the
EXPO. Please notify John
Welther if you can help with
this event. We also need
confirmation on the
Nashville EXPO and this
EXPO regarding member
modules. We have been
asked to have a larger setup
at Nashville than we had
last fall. Private schools in
the area will also be invited
to the EXPO in May.
Retired L & N employees
will be asked to help host
the May EXPO. Paul
Schnoes was to ask Kathy
Curtis to invite this group to
join with us. Call Rumsie
Butler if you want a sHOw
Club T-shirt. Rumsie gave a
report of our finances for
1995. Paul Schnoes is new
president of the L & N
Depot Development
Authority and the prospects
for a permanent layout were
discussed. Club brochures
were distributed.
