EXPO at Nashville Cancelled The March 16th sHOw EXPO at the Cumberland Division spring show at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds has been cancelled since our corner modules are still in need of repairs. We will continue to meet at Butler Motors on College St. in Bowling Green on Thursday nights from 6:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M. to work on member modules and club corners. If you have not been showing upfor these work sessions, please put it on your calendar. The club needs all members to work on the club modules and help our new members. MARCH MINUTES Vice-President David Boyd presided at the March 2nd business meeting at the Hobby Crossing. David and Charlie Hogan are designing a clamp to align our sky backoards. face board color. The club voted NOT to go to the Cumberland Division spring show since are modules are not ready. A current roster of members will be included with the April Newsletter. John Oakes will get a large copy of our logo to Rumsie Butler for printing on the club T-shirts. Rumsie Butler will check on renewing our club insurance. Thursday night work sessions will continue at Butler Motors until the May EXPO. Thursday, May 11, 1996 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. we will set up our layout and test run for the May EXPO. Your module must be there on April 11th for this test. This will determine how many and in what sequence the modules will be arranged. A confirmation sheet and a work schedule will be mailed with the April Newsletter. Nominations for club officers will be made at the April business meeting and an election will be conducted at the May 4th business meeting. A nomination sheet will be sent to all current members. The new mailing address for the club is: 710 College St. Bowling Green, KY 42101. In June our business meeting will be at the old depot (now a restaurant) in Glendale, KY. |
After the meeting, a photo railfan trip down Dixie highway is planned to view high trestles, coal towers, and other scenic wonders of railroading. Model Train EXPO in May The Western Kentucky University Center for Economic Development 2355 Nashville Road in Bowling Green will host the sHOw Modular Model Train EXPO on May 10th, 11th and 13th, 1996. On the 10th and 13th area fourth graders will be bussed in for the show. On the 11th the EXPO will be open to the public. In addition to the club layout, CSX Transportation will present their program on train safety and Operation Pride will be discussing "Community Pride and Bowling Green's Train Depot Renovation." Other displays of model railroading will add to the enjoyment of this event
