Poetry: Peace in Nature

I Wish...

Birds in trees.

Rabbits like soft cotton.

Butterflies like a rainbow.

Flowers like waves in the sea.

People smiling.

I wish the world got along.

Nicole, age 7

Sing to the Tune of Nature

Outdoors I enjoy,

the flutter of butterfly wings.

I know life is peaceful

when I listen to the birds sing.

Alone in the woods

I see deer prancing.

In the open field

I see horses dancing.

If people could just sing

to the tune of nature,

peace would rain on us

like the weather.

Samantha, age 10

Friends Are Purple

I like to play with my friends.

Friends are purple.

I like purple flowers.

Purple is my favorite color.
