Welcome to NHAR! The purpose of the club is to introduce and promote the Norse Horse - the Scandinavian breeds native to Denmark, Iceland, Finland, Norway, and Sweden (we also include Estonian breeds). Any crosses of Norse breeds (including mules, half-Norse, etc.) are also included.

Norse Horse Breeds
I hope to get some of the NHAR articles posted, which are more extensive...

Denmark : Danish Warmblood, Frederiksborg, Knabstrup (2 types), Jutland 2, Danish Pony, Danish Oldenburg, Faeroes Pony, etc.

Finland: Finnhorse (4 types).

Iceland: Icelandic Horse

Norway: Døle Gudbrandsdal/Døle Trotter, Norwegian Fjord (or Westlands Pony) 2, Northlands Pony.

Sweden: Swedish Warmblood, North Swedish Horse (or North Hestur)/North Swedish Trotter, Swedish Ardennes, Gotland (or Skogsruss).

Estonia: Toric,Estonian Draft (Rare), Estonian Native Horse (Rare).

Registration Registration is easy. Just send 3” X 5” index cards of your Scandinavian horses to be registered in NHAR. List:

Your Initials and your stable name at the top
The horse's name and breed on the next line
Sire (if there is one)
Dam (if there is one)
Age
Color
Markings
Make (OF/RR/etc.), Finish, & customizer
Gender

Send registration cards to: Jen Timm, 965-6 Main St., Holden, MA 01520

You will be sent a list of your horses’ NHAR registration numbers. (You don’t have to have parents for your horse. It’s nice to get as much info as possible, though)

SHOW RATINGS

NHAR End-of-the-year P.S. = 3X
Any Live Show = 3X
NHAR Photo Shows = 2X
Any other club/Other P.S.= 1X

POINT SUBMISSION

Only monthly photo show and end-of-the-year photo show points will be automatically tallied by the President. For other shows, please submit by January 31st. Please list on separate sheetsof paper the horse’s name, name and date of show (location, if live show), judges’ names, classes, placing, and points accrued using chart listed above.
