If You are looking for the AOL users guide to GeoCities, click here Terms of Use You are free to use any of the graphics on this site (except for those I use to create the site) on your personal pages. If you have a Commercial site, please email me for permission. Please dont use these graphics on sites that aren't G rated.. If you are in doubt as to whether your site is G rated, ask yourself if you would show it to your children. Please download the graphics you want to use to your own hardrive..dont link to mine. And one final thing. Please use a credit link if you do use them.Downloading Images So, first, how to download these images to your own hard drive for use in your own personal page. This is very easy, and the images are all small and wont take up much space. They are a few kb each, and will take a few seconds to save. If you are using Netscape or Internet Explorer, Right click on the Image you want to save, then choose save image as, or save picture as ( or save background as) from the right click menu. When the window comes up on your screen, confirming where you want to save the image, click OK. That's it..It's done. [One thing I need to mention here, if you have a Mac and cant save the background by right click., then scroll to the very bottom of the page, I am fixing the sets with backgrounds for you to be able to download. if you dont see one at the very bottom of the page, then I havent gotten to it yet, so feel free to email me and I will send you the background.] When you get back to your own desktop and go to work on your page, you will find the images where you saved them. If you have any problems with this, or don't understand something, or if you are using AOL Browser, even AOL for win95 (the aol msie) send me an email and I will mail them to you..or you can always download Netscape for use with AOL. this is the best solution and is very simple. If you dont know how to do this, email me, tell me what version of AOL you have and I'll send you extensive information on the subject.Using graphics in your web page As for how you use them, that's pretty self explanatory. If you need help learning to create your Web page, go to my links page and follow some of those links to html help. The only thing you might need to know about any of these graphics is how to format your page with a border background. Different things look right in different browsers, just like all the other tags. I have seen pages look great in MSIE, and terrible in Netscape, or vise versa. I have both browsers for that reason. Instead of trying to explain how to format border backgrounds here, I am going to send you to a page that has an excellent directions and everything you will need to do this. Go here. and if you still have questions email meThink before you link! The one most important thing I can stress is that you can't link to the images on other people's servers. Do not try to do this here, or anywhere else that says not to. I have a link on my links page to thoroughly explain this, so I wont go into it any further. All I will say on the subject is that if you link to these images, you wont have them but for a week at best, because I will rotate the images frequently. follow this link to Web Prestige if you want to know more about this.Custom Banners and other stuff Please dont ask me to make custom Banners, logos, Page sets, etc. for free. I couldnt make a living if I did this. If you want custom graphics my prices are more than reasonable and you can find them here .I will try to do things with the existing graphics like putting text on Buttons, etc. for free but you can do this yourself in any paint program, again, I will provide links to places that can tell you how to do this. Please link back The one thing I ask in return for the use of these graphics is a return credit link. It isn't much to ask for all of the work and time that goes into creating these graphics. If you want to use a banner or button, there is a small animated gif on the main page . . Most of the sets have a matching button, or if you don't like any of them, you can just use a text link . If you send me your URL, I will link back to you. |
