ABBA stand for Irish Presidency.

Following the announcement that Eurovision Song Contest winner Dana will be standing for the presidency of Ireland, Abba have decided to enter the contest as well.

[Could be the new Prez?] The Swedish four-some will be standing a platform of renewing Ireland's economy and tourist trade. They also pledge to stand on platforms. (Boom boom).

[Election Night special?] Terry Wogan, after the numerous brilliant eurovision voice-overs has been chosen to host "the vote" as it is coming to be known. Terry said "It's a great privilage to host the vote, and s'long as I have my favourite tipple alongside me, I'll have them dancing in the street. I can almost hear the Danish vote right now... what's that Danish? You're nice and tasty bacon are you ? Yum... "

The electoral system used will be especially reformed for this election. They telephone the count over a crackly radio link, and give thier votes in reverse order of preference. The voters will be arranged in order so that the two leading candidates will continually swap places in the top place, although the oranisers insist that this is co-incidental.
