Tubby names.

A couple from Birmingham England, named thier new baby, Laa Laa after one of the Teletubbies. Laa-Laa Sohpal was named after she caught jaudice and turned yellow, just like Laa-Laa.

The parents clearly like the name, but we have since found a future edition of the HT, and it included an article on how Laa Laa had blatted her parents for givingher such a silly name. Well, who could blame her really.

Au-pairs in America

While au-pairs are in the news, we talk a family who hired an au-pair, Lucy Wood, to look after thier baby.

HT: You are both well paid, and could quote clearly afford a proffesional naany. Why did you hire Lucy?

We love our little baby very much! We only want the best. Having said that, we like money. That's we decided to go for an untrained foreigner on a tourist's visa, so that we could pay her as little as possible.

What did Lucy say her motives were for coming to America?

She said that she wanted to earn some money first and then save to around the country.

Were you happy with that plan?

We made out we were happy, but when she got here, we took her passport and return tickets, imposed a curfew and paid her barely enough to live on.

Why?
