Welcome to the gallery of my orginal artwork. Each work is a scanned photograph of the original with special care being given the color accuracy. I hope you enjoy viewing these scanned versions of my artwork as much as I enjoyed painting them.
My personal style is realistic and impressionistic. Strictly transparant with emphasis on how light effects the objects it touches. I love the clarity of clean wash, allowing the brilliance of the white paper to shine through. My watercolors are expressions of my observations, reactions and impressions of nature and man-made structures I experience. Not wanting to faithfully duplicate, I prefer to use another methods of communication developed within: The realistic becomes abstract; shape, color and contour serve as subject, excitement and enthusiasm the nouns.
Most of my works are a unique blend of Oriental and Western style with eclectic combinations of Chinese ink. I express what I feel in my painting without adhering to a particular style. I choose freely to use a variety of materials and methods. Beside landscape, I like to paint common subjects including wall, stone, insects...... I feel novel subjects and strange or unusual things don't last long and what is in vogue is only temporary. I find interesting meaning in ordinary subjects. For instance, I find it beautiful and enjoyable to paint even a small stone. I always observe and express my feelings through my work. I strive to work without losing my vitality. My outlook is always changing and I am ever looking for new things to observe and express.
