"The Pain-Free Shopping Method: Buy a present for you, then a present for a friend. Then another present for you. Then a present for a friend. Then two presents for you. Then a present for a friend. Then go home, get into bed, and pull up the covers." -Cynthia HeimelI have not much to say today. Slept in, spaced out, and shopped with Sarah. Was telling her all the gooshy details of things ("You know how one person's arm always gets squished? Well, we were talking about that, and he pulled my arm out and kissed it and said 'We still love you, little arm.' Ohhhh...!"), and she was telling me about how Mike and Evan and Adrian and her and Ryan (from the party) went to a play last night, and how she's debating whether or not to ask him out, and she was trying to get me to do a double date thing...I said I wasn't that sure about that, but I could check it out. Also, the next drinking bash is scheduled for the 5th- maybe I will invite Remington, since when I told him about it for some reason I said I would have invited him if he'd been in town, I was just wondering if it'd be weird having him around my 19-year-old-horndog-engineering friends. I don't remember his response to this, but it wasn't negative...hmmm, suppose I'll have to I guess. Sarah said to get him to bring booze.
Oh, and we got into apartment talk for next year- we decided it'd be best to get a 2 bedroom apartment in her complex (so's we could have all the guys over...), and they pay for heat and it's furnished...I gotta tell Mom this stuff, she'll be thrilled.
We went to Fry's, and I wandered the CD section looking for the Goo Goo Dolls (been intending to get that for awhile) and whining about how I need to get my boyfriend (I'm trying to get used to that) a birthday present, only I have no idea what to get him that he doesn't already have- I've seen his house, he's got a shitload of books and stuff, probably has all of the stuff he's interested in. Haven't seen his apartment, so I don't know what's in that anyway, but that's my suspicion. Oh, did I mention that I think he looks through my stuff? I recall him wondering why I had so many wedding-themed soundtracks (just 3- My Best Friend's Wedding, 4 Weddings and a Funeral, Wedding Singer)- no, that's not a hint...hmmm, this is strange to me.
Anyway, as I'm wandering the aisles thinking "I have to get something..." I found this CD by The Rutles (Monty Python's spoofing of the Beatles). With my luck he probably has this, but I bought it anyway. I hope that's okay.
God, it sucks to get guys presents. And here I was thinking I was home free at Christmas from this stuff... and damn, I keep hooking up with these January-born guys...just when you think you're done, it's their b-day! Why can't my b-day come first, so I know if we're at the present-getting stage or not without having to be a fool and ask? I'm not sure if a CD's enough either, but well, I haven't any idea what to do anyway.
Present buying is just so stressful!
Update: Called Mom as requested...and she really depressed me. Well, she made me talk to Dad, and all he did was yell at me for the credit card bill, EVEN THOUGH I ONLY USED IT FOR STUFF HE TOLD ME TO USE IT FOR. He does that every frigging time he gets the bill, EVEN THOUGH HE'S NEVER CAUGHT ME USING IT FOR ANYTHING ELSE, and I couldn't take any more of it. So I told him to stop doing that, that I hadn't used it illegally, ever, and I'm tired of him saying that, he doesn't need to waste his breath on that anymore, and he makes me feel like an idiot when he does that. He said fine, he wouldn't do that anymore.
So afterwards Mom's all "What was that?", and then after I tell her, starts going on about Dad having constant heartburn and now she thinks I'm not sure what, either that he has cancer of the esophagus or is going to get it, and other bad things that made me feel less eager to go home. Oh greaaat.
Telling her about the apartment sounded encouraging...oh, and apparently she was going around telling everyone Dad used to One more thing: my homepage is now linked off ucd.life's page! Woo hoo!
