Believe it or not, the very very first rant we ever received was a rant about this site. We were so taken with this (that's the spirit) that we created a page for it.

Too Much Advertising!

Every time I go either forwards or back in this site a separate window opens up flashing away Geocities sponsors. I can't stop it. How angry does this make me? How much does it make me never want to come back to this site again?? Somebody do something about it please!!!!! You create a Rant site, brilliant idea, then I have to have - ALL MOVIES Buy 2 get one free - flashing at me!!!!
[Editor's Note] We agree with Paul about how annoying the advertising banners are, but there's nothing we can do about them. It's just another example of how the desire to make money makes our lives a misery. What we will do is convert them all to 'Geoguides' soa t least they don't appear in a separate window.

This Guy Doesn't Get It

For a site created as a "reaction to rude, selfish, anti-social behaviour", I must say many of the postings here are themselves rude, thoughtless and/or anti-social. There is nothing rude, selfish, or anti-social about not being able to figure out a damn computer -- calling such people WHINING **** LITTLE **** strikes me as all three! And oh my, people doing the speed limit in the slow lane! How rude! Brilliant idea to have a bumper sticker saying "DON'T HOG THE OUTSIDE LANE *******!" That's SURE to reduce the amount of rudeness in the world!
How angry does this hypocrisy make me!?!? Angry enough to WRITE A HYPOCRITICAL, BLOODY RUDE AND ****ING ANTI-SOCIAL RANT OF MY OWN!!! WHAT THE **** IS YOUR PROBLEM, ****! STOP ****ING SWEARING AT STUPID PEOPLE, YOU ****S! CAN'T YOU SEE YOU ARE ONE TOO!! BLARGH! BLEAH! RARGH!

[Editor's Comment] You're correct. There's nothing 'rude, selfish, or anti-social about not being able to figure out a damn computer'. But whining and moaning about it to the person whose job it is to fix it is rude and selfish. Thnk about that next time you complain to someone.
We're here for people to get things off their chest. We're here so that people can find out what is they do that annoys other people. If people driving too slowly makes people froth at the mouth then maybe next time you find yourself holding someone up you'll think about how selfish you're being.
But you have a point. If people annoy you, it doesn't really help if you get mad and shout at them. Like you just did. Clearly people using rude language annoys you. That is good. We needed to know that. Now Fuck off.

Another Banner Banner

Arg! It that stupid little geocities banner. Some wonderfull little html nerd thought it would be cute if whenever you go to a geocities page that little banner pops up "A word from our sponsors...". Fuck yer sponsers. All i want is to see some web page, not "free long didtance calls that really cost money." if i wanted to win a somewhat free vacation then id go to the site myself. Advertising is worse than spam. (im sure yahoo has some buy-in to that as well).
