BIOGRAPHY

" A picture is not thought out and settled beforehand. While it is being done
it changes as one's thoughts change. And when it is finished, it still goes on changing according to the state of mind of whoever is looking at it. A picture
lives a life like a living creature, undergoing the changes imposed on us by
our life from day to day. This is natural enough, as the picture lives only through the man who is looking at it."

I have been a working and exhibiting artist in the Midwest for eighteen years, focusing on a diverse array of subject matter. In 1985, I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, IL. and went on to study art at Illinois State University in Normal, IL. in which I received a Masters of Science degree in the Studio Arts (1990) and a Masters of Fine Arts degree in Painting (1993). Additionally, I have had the good fortune to be represented in many group shows in Illinois, New York, Tennessee, Missouri, North Dakota. I have been included in several publications, most notably Marquis Who's Who in American Women.

My artwork includes a variety of media such as; watercolor, acrylic and photography. Many artists have influenced my work, most notably the painters; Henri Matisse, Helen Frankenthaller, Mark Rothko, Paul Jenkins, and the photographers; Aaron Siskind, & Sally Mann.
