LOUISIANA RENAISSANCE FESTIVAL 2000
        Costumes and Garb

Just a little bit naughty! This impish member of the Unseelie Court of Fey seems to be contemplating some sort of mischief, even as she paused a moment for her portrait. Apparently, there must have been some commerce between all the Faerie Courts of LRF and the Fey of TRF. Sometime between Opening and Closing weekend at LRF, Ryleh noticed that the LRF Faeries had adopted the musical "whistling chirp" which is the hallmark language of the TRF Court. A most interesting development, indeed!

The proprietor of the Mystery Maze in the Children's Area at LRF. Altho he was not exactly in period garb, the happy accident of this frame just cried out for a portrait. The kids certainly seemed to enjoy his maze, especially as there's a Wishing Well hidden within!

This well-dressed group caught Ryleh's eye as they stood chatting in front of Midsummer Knights Dream". Even their greyhoud was outfitted in a period surcoat! Regretfully, all the rich details of the lady's dress (far right) -- all the gleaming gold and silver threads, bright jewels and exquisite beadwork -- failed to stand out in this view. Even so, these are outstanding examples of the time and effort both patrons and players will put into making their garb both beautiful and unique.

On Saturday evening, Closing Weekend, the entire Court, cast and krew of LRF gathered at the Jousting Arena for this formal "portrait". Although there was a certain sadness knowing that this season was drawing to a close, there was also anticipation: looking forward to next year, when LRF will be even bigger and better!
