WET 30: Oh, No! Not Again! These same tourists had to cut short their vacation in Atlantis when it was inundated with water, and they're pretty irritated at having their Egyptian vacation ruined in the same way! To colorize, I selected each area, copied it as a new image, reduced to gray scale, increased colors to 16 million, then flooded with the new color at 20 percent opacity. I then selected the transparent area, flooded it at 20 percent, inverted the selection, then used Selection: Modify: feather 2 to soften the edges. (At least, I did that to everything the first time I made this image. After the computer swallowed it, I had to reconstruct it. I hope I did the same thing both times!) I then copied this selection and pasted it as a new layer on the original image. For the water, I also copied and pasted different portions of the altered selection onto this layer to get a more textured wave effect. I drew the lightning as a new layer, then expanded the selection 5 pixels and filled with a 20 percent opacity of the same yellow. I then contracted the selection 1 pixel and filled 20 percent more, and repeated this two more times. That gave me the hazy effect I wanted around the main branches of lightning. |
![]() This is a half sized version of the original image posted for us to use. Thank you! |
This image was created using Paint Shop Pro 5, especially for the WET #30 project.
It is my original creation based on the original WET image obtained on-line
through alt.binaries.comp-graphics.
Thank you!
