Each of our magazines have their own format, submit to each separately Poetry Readers & Poets, and The Wings of an Angel Articles will still be accepted for the summer issue. Email notification will acknowledge receipt of your submission. If you do not receive confirmation with-in three weeks of submission, please drop us a note. Sometimes we cannot acknowledge submissions because the email address has not been configured correctly by those who use a ISP connection. Please make sure that it is correct. We are accepting submissions for the spring issue, a date for publication has not been set yet. Please follow the instructions below for submissions. It creates work for the staff to sort through submissions that do not follow our format. This may have an effect on final decisions of selection. We reject submissions made through the guest book, or written all in caps. Early submissions are encouraged We are unable to pay our contributors.
The Inner Voice has an open call for poetry, short stories, personal experiences, parables, experiences with the light and sound, meditation techniques, spiritual exercises, religious articles, art work, and feedback from our readers. In the fall issue, we will highlight the subject of love and relationaships, but other subjects will also be covered. We seek themes that expresses the spiritual journey to God in an individual's daily life. Articles and poetry do not need to speak of a particular religion or spiritual belief, but can convey an experience that touches the heart of a reader, leaves the reader with a positive feeling. An example of this is the poem Radio Sound, Before you submit material, read all of the submissions policy, to get a feel for what the magazine publishes, read the material.
Teens You must have the permission of a parent or guardian. If you are a student, please submit your poetry in thie following format. In the "subject" area of your email, write "student poetry," or "student story." In the body of the letter, state your age, and write a few sentences (no more than 10) about your poem or story that express your feelings about it, or why you wrote it. You will receive return mail to let you know that your poem or story was received.
Articles/Essays: Most articles should be 1400 words or less, short stories should be 1,500 words or less. Writers can share spiritual methods that have been successful for themselves, uplifting experiences, personal triumphs that resulted from their religious convictions, and creative ideas that may spark interest for others. The magazine does not solicit or advocate verses, quotations, or text from the books of religions, but strives to offer a nondenominational forum for people. However, an occasional quotation from a religion's theological text can be included if it has relevance. If sharing your personal spiritual beliefs, or those of a particular religion, be aware that others may be unfamiliar with your terminology. Try to simplify when possible, to keep the communication clear.
Poetry:We are looking for uplifting poetry that tells a story, shares an experience, or highlights a spiritual belief. Please submit only two poems per issue. Poetry submissions will be considered for this magazine as well as our sister magazine, Poetry Readers and Poets. and The Wings of an Angel
Writing Tips: As writers, each of us constantly strives to improve our craft. One of the magazine's goals is to help all of us to grow as writers. If you have a writing tip that will help others, pass it on.
